The food that we had was actually nice but the order was totally wrong. 4 meals ordered, only 2 were correct.! Too late to do anything about it by the time we got home and relalised. Run by children unfortunately.. actually heard them say, which one is a savaloy and which in is a battered sausage!!Next time will check before we leave

Had fish n chips last night,they were the worst we ever had from there which is normally hit and miss.Gross soggy and undercooked batter.The chips cold and soggy, tasted awful and the oil clearly needed changing. That's it now not going back,will travel extra mileage to Olivers in Basingstoke.Such a shame as two years ago it was perfect evert time.

Great food if only the customer service matched... the waiting area is small and can ger crowded quickly forcing some to wait outsideI would suggest the owners consider removing the sofa to allow a bit more space to wait and a better wait of ordering such as online to keep waiting times to a minimum

The fish & chips on this occasion were awful!! Purchased at 5.15 on a Friday. The batter was so hard and fish dry that I can only assume it was reheated from lunch time?! The chips tough - again reheated or kept too long!! Sorry, will not be going there again!

Disappointing. One lovely piece of fish, the other was virtually non-existent under the batter. Chips were really poor --soggy and full of bits, rather than whole large chips. We may give it one more go, but it has to be better. We went back at the end of January and it was a different story. Excellent fish and chips, so I have modified my review.

Been a couple of times and complained to them once about the quality but they just don't seem to care. Old fish and rubbery oily batter. Chips are all rubbery and most were just the off cuts. Never again. Nb. Their example photo says it all, just look at the quality of the chips - not good.

Normally come here and they are very good we drive 10 miles for these, GoodFriday they were awful could not eat them, scampi was soggy & raw, chips had no taste pure grease. Very disappointed won’t be coming today. Everything had no taste worse fish and chips I ever had!

Ok, pandemic fish n chips after work on my anniversary, not allowed out and couldn’t be bothered with restaurant prices just to take home to my kitchen table.So went to Mariners, OMG this was amazing, this fish was meaty, fresh and tasty, batter crispy and the chips were perfect.10 out of 10 great meal, will go back.

I only leave reviews when service leaves an impression for whatever reason;Food always good, but this last visit, teenage customer 'service' left much to be desired. Just because you are the only 'fish' in the pond doesn't mean customers can be served with a degree of contemptable disdain..
