Great price, good food but prepare yourself to be smoked!

Mr Munch is one of those rare finds in Basingstoke - an independent, family-run business in the centre of town. The food is always fresh and tastes fantastic. Nothing is too much trouble, and the staff are very friendly and efficient. This is easily one of the best cafes in town - if not, THE best..

They only take cash, which is not disclosed anywhere until you pay. The food is very greasy, and we waited nearly 30 minutes to receive it.

Stumbled upon MM as Wimpy was unusable due to being packed out. What a great find, friendly, lovely food and a reassuring retro feeling. Will revisit when next down for sure.

I have loved it here for as long as I can remember.Went in there today with family and they really put the effort in. my Mum has an allergy to tomatos and wanted a salad. They came out and asked what she would like in it and instead of putting the tomatos in it they added some other bits as extra.I have been going here since I was like 5 and I think it's the only place that I have never had a bad experience with. Legit would recommend to anyone.

If you're looking for a great fried breakfast in Basingstoke this is one of the top restaurants to do one. Staff and friendly, prices can be a little steep.

It's not bad grub.. my issue was didn't feel safe in there as they have put up covid protection screens.. buts it's the middle isles where people can still cough or whatever in your direction..

I can’t believe this place is CASH ONLY after all the years it has been in town ☹️ my son went in there with his friend and ordered food and after eating it he went to pay for it not realising it’s CASH ONLY and most kids today pay by phone or card as they don’t carry cash anymore 😬 so my partner had to travel across town from Popley in rush hour to pay for his food which she wasn’t happy about 😡 so as much as I’ve always liked your food in the past I definitely won’t be coming back as I don’t like TAX DODGERS and I really think you needs to make it CLEARER to people that there’s no facility for electronic payment when they orders their food or maybe it’s time to catch up with everyone else that’s now having to change to this kind of payment

I was going to write is alright like I usually do, but the staff were really friendly and the food was gorgeous. I only had a small breakfast. Which is quite reasonably priced. If you ask for a mug of tea though. Make sure that you ask for a strong one or you'll get cats pee.
