Oriental Break in Basingstoke and Deane

Whilst the food is good the service not so much...called in for a delivery, was told they were very busy and will be about an hour and 15 mins, an hour and 45mins later called to find out what was happening. Got told to hold. 5 minutes later someone comes back on the phone,enquired what was happening and told they were only just cooking it!Cancelled the order as didn't want to wait any longer.We have used oriental for quite a while but this was the final straw, we've previously had missed items on delivery, food delivered cold but we always gave them the benefit of the doubt and went back.Never again

I’ve seen quite mixed reviews on here. I haven’t personally used them as a takeaway service and only use them when I’m up the Academy, however, I have always found the quality of food to be exceptional, true to say I love my food but more than that I like good quality food and I believe wholeheartedly recently they’re really delivering that.

Absolutely lovely. The best Chinese I've had. It was piping hot and very tasty. This is the 3rd time I've ordered from here and I haven't been disappointed.

Takeaways are going downhill. For the 3rd time now have recieved an incomplete order. Last one ordered a sweet and sour chicken balls along with other meals and after phoning then it took over 1 and half hours for them to send the sauce. Phoned them up after hour and they said they had tried to deliver it. They need to consider customers

Normally this is our go to for Chinese food. We’ve been using them for years, recommended them to others. Tonight’s food was grim. Stodgy, soggy and tasteless. Yesterday’s leftovers shoved in a microwave. Ordered food for a birthday meal which was totally ruined. Had no choice but to eat what we could bear as had no other food for a meal. Thanks very much.

I have used this take away before and phoned my order 2 hrs ahead. The lady I spoke with confirmed delivery by 730 but it didn't turn up. When I called they apologized as they had forgotten my order!!! This was a birthday celebration meal and totally ruined the evening. If you use this take away don't order in advance as it seems they can't cope. Thanks Oriental Break for spoiling my birthday 😢

Absolutely shocking service. Called at 17.50. Was advised 2 hours for delivery - no problem. Still waiting at 22.30. Clearly taken the phone off the hook as they can't keep up but can't advise of what on earth is going on either.

Ordered a delivery at 5.45pm it's now 21.56 no food has arrived we were told up to a 2hrs wait . Can't get through to them absolutely terrible customer service. Will never use them again😡

Very good food from here and never had a bad meal. Yes there can be a wait for food sometimes but that's because its so good and lots of people use it.

im not in the business of unnecessary criticism but this is probably the worst chinese ive had in recent memory.chilli beef - very small portion. if had to share half of this with another person i would have been fuming. taste was average.vermicelli noodles - to be fair, i asked for this without veg so was expecting some flavour to take a hit... however there wasnt even enough curry powder to change the colour of the noodles.roast duck and pork fried rice - pork has a lot of gristle and not much flavour. duck was ok, the fat wasnt crispy but it was ok.i've given an extra star because it was hot and delivery was quicker than expected.all in all, should have read the reviews or paid somewhere in cash rather than settling for one of the only online chinese options.
