Pizza Express in Basingstoke and Deane

Visited 2 weeks ago and had a lovely meal. Lily served us and she was fab,really attentive and helpful. She even spent time chatting with my friends little girl who was also called Lily. We had an issue with the app trying to get the discounts but Lily and the manager (didn't catch his name) were really helpful to solve the problem. Thanks again x

Absolute joke of a restaurant went today at 2.20 to be asked by an assistant wesring more jewellery than h samuels stocks if I'd booked. I said no. She said we are all going on breaks now and not serving. Who a) allows staff to break such basic hygiene levels and b) sends all their staff on lunch at once. Appalling management. They clearly dont want peoples money!

Always great service here and a guaranteed for an authentic pizza or Italian dish. The drinks menu has plenty to offer and is usually clean and well staffed.

Sat outside, lovely place. The staff are lovely and food is great always 5* to pizza express, one of the best restaurants!

Service was quick, menu was varied, a clean and spacious venue at the time.Special mention to Chris on the staff team, very polite and patient. 🙂Too much spinach on both our different pizzas stopped it being 5 stars.

Part of our order had been forgotten and was given to us cold at the end (two items and they took one off of the bill - which didn’t seem great as both were late and cold?) but the rest of the food was cooked well, hot and tasty. The waitress was lovely too. We didn’t wait long for a table and they turned the aircon down when we asked as it was directly above our table, so that was appreciated.

Arrived on a Saturday afternoon for a late lunch. Stood outside for 5 minutes with another group who were there before us. 3 staff stood chatting and simply ignoring potential customers at the door. Eventually a young man appeared and said that unless those waiting had booked then we were not able to dine. After explaining that we would book by the app and come back we were all told that we would not get a table that day and to blame Brexit. Odd

Gluten free pizza a little sadly topped compared to regular options, see pic. Functional service, maybe a little low on staff. Prices maybe a little too premium on friday nights vs other nights of the week for the exact same food (e.g. taste card 2 for 1 sun to thurs, meerkat, student rates etc), so may only return mid week in future.

Mmmm mixed review really. The guy that seated myself with my 5 children wasnt very welcoming. All other staff were lovely. Starter was packed with flavour. The main was bland and unsatisfying. The children's deal was great though. They all enjoyed it. For what we had I was very shocked to have spent £100!!

Oct 2019: Friendly staff for our mid Sunday after post shopping Pizza and Super Food Salad... Bonus that they sell Fuller's Real Ale :-)
