The aesthetics, setting, taste all amazing but the price to portion size on the vegan menu isn't great. The meat dishes are a bigger in size and taste good, or so I'm told.

A birthday celebration where we decided to try a more than the run of the meal pub food we usually have elsewhere. Based on the reviews we thought we would try the Purefoy and were not disappointed. No its not cheap if you go for the taster menu as we did but it was pretty sensational. A lovely experience botj for the food and the friendly staff and we are already looking forward to the next big birthday in 3 weeks when we plan on returning .

My wife loves this place so booked a Sunday lunch for 4 as my 60th birthday treat. Lovely building, full of character and tastefully furnished. Picturesque village location with good view of impressive traditional church and grounds on adjacent slope. Excellent menu with food perfectly prepared and presented. Friendly, helpful hosts who even made an amazing birthday cake. Looking forward to next visit already.

Absolutely love this place but recent visit disappointed. Menu had next to nothing on it which meant I had the joys of a burger which was just not worth the trouble. Triple cooked chips (which I didn't ask for) all crisp, next to nothing inside and an unpleasant oil tang to them. To be fair mackerel starter was historic and rest of family enjoyed their bread and ribs. Sadly considering the not insignificant price not too sure I'll be returning. A bit broken hearted really as loved lunch in the beer garden on a nice summer's day ☹️

The Purefoy. The thought of going back here for a meal was one of those things that made enduring lockdown easier.Went back as soon as I could and the food didn’t disappoint. The chef is a genius - inventive and fresh. Tasting menu a must. The fresh deli board was also excellent to start. The staff here were very attentive and the beer choice is good.Been back since for a roast. Can’t go wrong here with a roast.Pub itself is pretty in a rural village. Pub has a nice garden as well with one of those geodesic domes.

Wonderful dinner experience with their testing menu. Every dish was amazingly good and some of them surprised me too in a good way. Their Mac and cheese was 10 out of 10! Definitely recommend to others and will come back again!

Food was incredible, venue is so cosy and homely, booked the pod in the garden for my Pops birthday and was a great experience. Definitely the type of country English pub feel I miss living in Australia. Team were very friendly and totally recommend. Maybe worth having someone purely service the pod if it’s booked as staff were busy and working hard, but certainly didn’t take away the experience. Thanks heaps for a great night!

This pub is definitely worthy of all the accolades! The tasting menu was an absolute dream and they carried without complaint for my dislike of seafood and egg and offered up a completely new option (arancini) which was devine.I’d definitely return and dine here again!

Great food and service.Amazing veggie options and they were so flavoursome. They're not just options chucked onto the menu. We will be going back for more and will try the rest.... Maybe a taster menu next time.Garden was very well presented along with staff and service.Very happy
