Fantastic gem of a pub. Owner couldn't have been more welcoming. We had a lovely meal. Will definitely be visiting again!

Well this little hidden gem is just incredible. I don't actually know where to start!1. The welcome was lovely, really laid back, engaging and super friendly whilst also giving you the space to relax.2. The little qwerks within the pub really do make it what it is. Add to that the absolutely amazing staff and it genuinely is like nowhere I've ever been before.3. The food. Oh my goodness the food!!!!! The burger was next level delicious! So juicy and tasty just absolutely divine!4. The accommodation. Well it certainly has that wow factor. Heading up the old staircase to the room it's so unassuming but the minute you open the bedroom door you are met by some stunning interior design which when mixed with the age of the building somehow seamlessly join together! The bath was AMAZING, the bed was unbelievably comfy. I have no complaints. The little fridge in the hall was a nice touch with fresh orange and water.Honestly I'd be more than happy to go back and I'd happily recommend to friends and family.100% worth every penny!

Went there for Sundays dinner first of all the place didn't look very hygienic dog hair everywhere didn't look like it was cleand in a wile now lets get to the food the potatoes were inedible the beef was not bad vegetables not bad they agreed with us because they didn't charge for 3 roast dinners change the potatoes and start cleaning and keep dogs from the eating area and they i could change my mind

Accommodated us at short notice after where we had booked had a power cut. So helpful and friendly and made us feel really welcome. The food was excellent and we were really impressed with the freshly baked caramelised red onion bread to share. One of our party is vegan and even though there was only one main vegan option it was delicious. Would definitely recommend!

That's very nice place. A little bit buried outside the hustle of the cities it offers some good relaxing and fun time. I've been there for food and drinks a couple of times, during quite and busy nights and the quality is always very good. Owners and personnel very friendly. Service and quality very good. Definitely a place to visit again

I genuinely don't know where to start with this absolute gem of a place so forgive me if I go a little off piste.I had a long drive from Scotland and James (the landlord/AirBNB host) was so friendly and helpful to ensure I arrived safely.I brought with me my two dogs, including a very over enthusiastic labrador, I never expected the positive and very well considered/planned arrival. James had bowls of water out plus treats and could give Caesar Milan a run for his money as a dog whisperer. He promptly showed us the huge garden where the dogs stretched their legs.James not only looked after the dogs well, waiting for me on the bar was a pint of beer. Not resting on his laurels James then produced a delicious burger and chips in about 8 mins, whilst regaling me with local history. Apparently, folding the space/time continuum is part of skill sets too.The decor is an eclectic mix of historical objects and amazing lighting.Food was of a very high standard and faultless as was the service. I can highly recommend the Roast Turkey with all the trimmingsThis was my first ever AirBNB and he has single handedly ruined it for me permanently, I doubt I'll ever experience anything as professional, friendly, thoughtful or courteous.James is a true gentleman and a scholar.I don't think I will find a location as perfectly balanced for style, ambience, service and care of dogs. Also what value for money as the room was perfectly kitted out, perfectly presented and nothing was overlooked. My only complaint is leaving and how much my dogs will miss the place.

Lovely food, great service and a cosy atmosphere. James is great fun. Will now be known as the home of the gravy shots.
