Mid walk stop. Friendly and welcoming staff, scampi fries and a well kept pint of Landlord. Nice atmosphere and the fire roaring.

Great menu good traditional food on offer with great prices too.

Excellent local pub, with great friendly service and good sized portions. Would highly recommend and it was a definite shame that having lived in Newbury for a while, that I had never before visited!

Real Ale Skinner's Betty Stogs and really enjoyed the food, I had a Burger apparently crafted in the kitchen , also locals say Curries are Brilliant

Fabulous owners who make you feel like you're a regular, wether it's your first time or the 100th! Good selection of drinks and amazing food! The fajitas are perfect!

Popped by while housesitting in the area to support businesses. Attracted by the name. Had drinks outside in the car park (not so great view). Social distancing in place. Friendly, good service, good prices, good choice of beer.

We stopped off at the Rampant Cat for dinner on our way home from a day out. We called up made a last minute booking on-route and were lucky enough to be seated out in the garden on arrival. The menu choices weren't huge but there was enough on there to please even picky eaters. My husband had the burger and fries which he said was lovely. I opted for the fish, chips and mushy peas and was so glad I did. The fish was amazing, the batter extremely light crispy and not greasy at all. We were informed by the young lady who worked there that it was made to order using Doombar beer straight from the tap. The portion sizes were also very generous and we couldn't manage a dessert. The staff were fantastic, informative and enthusiastic about the food, pub and were genuinely lovely. You can tell it is a family run place and there is a lot of pride and care that goes into making sure customers are happy. We will definitely be making a point of detouring to the Rampant Cat again.

Only popped in for a quick bite to eat,warm welcome from barman Ordered two Scampi with well cooked chips (wife doesn't like soggy ones) and have to say one of the best Scampis in a very long time,crispy,hot and chips done to perfection.1st time visit in a very long time but will be back

We went off piste to visit this pub because we loved the name. Lovely, quiet village location. It has outdoor seating and serves a good range of pub grub. Staff were friendly and the pub has a lovely old feel to it. Great walks around here too.

27/02/2020 was my first visit to The Rampant Cat with my husband after a long and lovely day... Arrived just before 6pm. Got a warm welcome from barman Nigel. Cosy pub. Several seating areas. Great menu selection and Special board. Food was FANTASTIC ! Look forward to my next visit.
