We didnt stay as fully booked but had a meal. Lovely friendly staff. Good food and great atmosphere. We went for my husbands birthday with friends

·

Lovely meal. Sunday roast for my partner and Green Thai curry for me. Fully booked - they were turning people away - so need to book.

·

Excellent food, truly scrumptious, heartily recommended. Some nice real ales too including those from the Flowerpots Brewery.

First time visiting the Watership Down Inn with friends for dinner and it didn’t disappoint!Menu not huge but makes the food special and good quality! We tried the steak, duck and boar and chorizo burger and all were lovely! Just a bit pricier than we’re used to but worth it for special occasions.Starters were great too and well presented! Service was also really good.We were out in the conservatory area and it was a bit cold if you weren’t sat by the radiator.Lovely evening out with friends for a birthday meal and somewhere different with a unique menu!

We walked to the Watership Down Inn after our visit to Bombay Sapphire. A short walk away. Situated across the Wartership down bridge where we're told the children's classic was based on.The garden area looks decent size for day time visits in the warmer weather. The bar area was warm and welcoming and pet friendly, big enough for small group of drinkers and fun atmosphere. Surrounding restaurant area is beautifully decorated. We wish we had time to stay and eat!We enjoyed the banter with the locals and easily organised a taxi back to Basingstoke for £20. With Alpha Cars. We'll definitely be back!

Lovely pub and really attentive staff. Too late for the food but menu looked superb. I was in group and we can't wait to go back and try out the restaurant.

·

Really excellent venison, cooked perfectly and served with a beautiful gravy and fantastic triple-cooked chips on the side. Appetising presentation, utterly scrumptious! The waiting staff were truly awesome. Overall, our experience was so good, we booked for Sunday lunch!

·

Good ambiance but little flexibility (couldn't swap sweet potato fries for regular chips). Very tasty chocolate fudge brownie sundae.. sticky toffee was standard fare.

matth2715 (95 reviews)Durham, United KingdomBooked a stay here as we were visiting the Bombay Sapphire Distillery just along the road. This was an ideal location for walking to the Distillery and provided us with a perfect night's stay and some fantastic food. The staff could not have been more helpful, arranging dinner reservations before we even arrived. We were met with a friendly welcome and shown to what was a beautifully furnished and well appointed room. Our dining experience gave us the chance to try some local produce which was served perfectly without delay. The waiting staff, although busy, were attentive and pleasant. After a comfortable night's sleep, we enjoyed a wonderful breakfast before unfortunately having to depart. We'd love to go back of we were in the area and suggest that you do too!
