Y Knot Inn in Basingstoke and Deane
Where is Y Knot Inn?
🏠 Water End Park, Old Basing, Basingstoke RG24 7BB
"Iron Bull Roadhouse has taken its premises back to its grass roots in the early 1800's when it was a coaching inn for horse-drawn carriages travelling up the A30 from Cornwall to London. It is now reborn as a roadhouse bar/café/diner for the local community and passersby, as well as being a destination venue for motorcyclists, car enthusiasts and cyclists. Its offerings include premium coffee, cooked breakfasts, speciality burgers, daily specials, and a good range of beer, cider, wine and spirits. After extensive renovations it opened in May 2021 and invites all passersby to stop for a visit."

Always nice to visit and have a "proper pint" and hold a conversation without the dreaded Sky tv "coming at you" I understand it is being taken over by Punch and food will be served at long last.

Not great! No draft beer as landlord is in dispute with brewery! Locals n staff fantastic!

Not a lot of cask ale on but the "49" was pretty good 😁

Nice place with friendly staff. There was only one cask ale on when I went, but it tasted good and seemed well kept. The bar staff were friendly. They are also dog friendly.

A very friendly atmosphere, the bar staff are super helpful, makes you happy to be of age to drink, so you can experience their solid excellence.

Visited late afternoon while weather was still warm due to covid restrictions. Friendly helpful lady made sure we felt welcome showed us to a table and brought us our drinks. Only two choices of beer doombar and razor back. Both well kept. All tables were full just after we arrived could do with some usable outside shelter. Believe this pub used to have a patio electric roof with a heater. Previous management I believe. Could be Useful as inside pub can get full when I have visited before outside of covid.

Thought we should give it a go after the refit. They have done a nice job in tidying the place up and made it feel much more cosy.I would say that the lady behind the bar needs to drastically improve her customer service, I have never met such a miserable bar tender. Also, ban customers from playing music on their phone, nobody wants to hear your music, it’s a place of conversation.

Nice steadily improving "country pub" within easy walk of the town centre. Good selection of well kept real ales and good food driven by the same chef that owns The Jolly Farmer. Nice garden for sunny days and children /dog friendly.
