Lovely little sandwich bar with perhaps the nicest toilets in Berkshire! (See photos)Excellent menu with high quality ingredients. Extensive tea menu with some unique flavours. Try the Crowthorne Special Blend for a strong, flavourful brew, like Builders Plus 😅Sandwiches are thick cut and generously filled. A range of home made cakes and pastries are on offer too. I recommend the avocado chilli stack (see photo), great blend of textures and flavours.Lovely place to come and catch up with friends over tea & cake, or for a more substantial lunch. We'll be back again!

I want to say not only is the food and drink excellent the service and customer care is amazing. My 83 year old mother felt unwell this week whilst having lunch in the cafe and the staff team could not have done enough for us. They were a great support to her and allowed us to exit discreetly via their back door where the Ambulance collected her. They even gave the Ambulance staff a hot drink whilst they assessed my mother. Thanks again for all your support and going that extra mile for us. It's my mums favourite teahouse and she will be back again soon.

Went for an afternoon tea with about 15 people for a special occasion. When I arrived there was only tea on the table so I asked for a water, the owner looked slightly put out, then another girl asked for water and again he looked strangely put out, the third time he was asked for water he asked if anyone had any refillable bottles with them because - and I quote ‘I’m not sure if I’ve got enough glasses’!! It’s a big restaurant and we were the only ones in there! When I asked for water again (the glasses were small), even though I had a glass already he asked if I had a refillable bottle and then addressed the table and said- I quote ‘does nobody have a refillable bottle? Come on guys it’s 2022’ so rude and insulting! As if anyone would bring a bottle with them to afternoon tea? I take one if I go out to anywhere else other than a place that serves drinks!! Afternoon tea was average, the sandwiches were tiny, think finger sandwich cut in half and the plate filled up with salad in the middle where the other half of sandwich should be. Scones were nice. Cakes were too big for our party, basically one big one each but would have been nicer if they were cut so we could all try a few. I wouldn’t be writing this review if the owner had replied to my message he has ‘seen’ on Facebook messenger but it was such an odd experience I just needed to share. I’ve been to this establishment 3 times prior to it changing names and always found the portions small and expensive and vowed I’d never go back but wanted to share my friends special occasion.

After being let down by another venue for my daughter's baby shower tea, Paul at Louie's agreed to take us on at short notice. It was after the cafe had closed, so Paul looked after us himself as his staff had gone home.He did a brilliant job waiting on 15 ladies and even added an extra place for my grandson at the last minute, who wanted to share in his mum's partyWe had such a lovely time. Paul was super helpful and allowed me access early so we could dress the table and add balloons etc.The food was gorgeous and we even had enough cake and scones to take some home.It was a lovely baby shower and I'm hugely grateful to Paul for pulling out all the stops to make it happen.Thank you.

Came in with a friend for coffee and tea. We decided to eat as well. Food was very tasty (we both had sandwich with avocados), they had vegan option with spread instead of butter. Tea was delicious. Very nice experience, we'll be back soon 😊

Now operating as Louie's the quality and service is as good as ever. Good food in a covid safe environment. Still well worth revisiting. Good range of teas and coffee, breakfast and lunch items plus good cakes.Original review: Beaton's tearoom in Crowthorne has an excellent range of speciality teas and a good range of speciality coffees in addition to the usual ranges available at most coffee shops. The quality and service has been excellent at every visit. The cakes, fresh sandwiches and soups I have tried have all been delicious and there are many more tempting items on the menu that I want to try. Definitely worth visiting.

Shabby chic decor, friendly and helpful staff, and the tea! Decent selection of scrumptious cakes made fresh. Artisan breakfast that does not disappoint. The tea sets are cute and colourful; and the space is comfortable, not cramped. Certainly worth a stop in.
