Golden Fry in Bracknell Forest

Fish and chips are usually great and fresh!But on one occasion it wasn't very warm.Recently had a cheeseburger from here and was disappointed. Low quality beef, very over cooked and a standard slice of cheap processed cheese. No salad at all. The bun was fresh.Seemed to be much fewer chips with it, than in the past.Also had a couple of fishcakes from here..Each time...Small, thin and just slightly warm. Disappointing.

Stingy portion size. Probably had about 12 decent chips out of a small portion most were the dried up crispy ones.

Tried this place for the first time tonight Saturday night 21st August 2021. I read the reviews and most seemed to rate it as a decent chippy. Well I'm sorry but it's very very average at best. The people who said it is saturated in some form of cooking oil (probably rapeseed) are bang on the money. The chips are a soggy, oily mush and the fish batter low rent, too thick, undercooked in parts and tastes so strongly of oil you can't taste the fish! I'm not being horrible just being honest. The food was poor very poor. The 2 star review is solely based on it was a clean shop and the staff were friendly enough. However the food left me with a taste of oil in my mouth for the last two hours and feeling that I'd wasted my money! Would definitely not go again. They could have, should have and must do better!!!

I tend not to use this shop, the chips are always soggy, the fish is still swimming, not because of it's freshness, but because of the oil it's in.Food tastes OK, just not my choice and I won't be going back again.On a positive note, the staff are friendly.

Great fish and chips. Cod, haddock and scampi very good. Pies are Pukka brand.

Went in the shop today 24/5/21 had cod n chips £7.50 well the worst cod n chips ive ever had they must have took the cod out the fryer put it in bag it was swimming in oil a right bit of rubbish food wont be goin there again

Lovely fish and chips. Crisp fish and hot, fluffy chips. Well done. Long wait, but that's probably because they are good!

We like a lot to go out. Yesterday we came to this delicious restaurant which we didn’t know before. We enjoyed a beautiful evening there with first-rate dishes and a nice crew and a distinguished cuisine. We put this venue in our phone list and we shall surely return very soon. We deeply recommend.

Don't know if this place has changed hands recently or whether they've just changed supplier, but the quality of the fish from here seems to have gone through the roof !Having had a poor experience (repeatedly) in the past (under-cooked / over-cooked fish and soggy tepid chips), we had taken to only buying from here if I REALLY couldn't be bothered to go the extra few miles to Finchampstead, but the last TWO occasions I have to say, the quality has been OUTSTANDING.Consequently I shall NOT now be bothering with anywhere else.
