Rose & Crown in Bracknell Forest

Mitch the waiter was brilliant. No problem when I wanted to change my original order. Very friendly, excellent service. Parking a bonus too. Food was good quality and good portion sizes. Nice idea having pods although today was too cold to use them but would be good in the summer. Will definitely return when next in Windsor. Lovely atmosphere.

We were visiting our Son in the area and went out for an early Mothers Day meal, we originally booked for a table of 6 and sadly when we arrived at my Sons 2 of our party were unwell. We arrived at the pub had 2 rounds of drinks in the bar before being shown to our table. No sooner had we been seated we were approached by a rather RUDE gentleman who stated “the next time you come as a table of 4 you should book 4 not 6” my husband said sorry but 2 of the party were poorly to which he got a reply of “ everyone says that so they can get this cosy booth” we were all shocked at his rude nature. On ordering our desert the same guy shouted across the room to find out how many of the deserts were left !! Really Rude Guy shame as the pub is really nice but very let down by him !!!

Without doubt the best Sunday dinner I have had in a long time!! The staff were friendly and the pork and beef were both perfectly tender. The price was also very reasonable and all in a nice little venue 👌🏼

Sadly not such a good experience here I ordered fish and chips and the smell of fish that came from it was a horrific fishy and acidic smell as if it’s severely off and when I mentioned it to the waitress she called the manager who then told me it smells because it is “fresh haddock” this is quite insulting I have had haddock and fish many times and it never ever had this disgusting smell-my entire table of family could smell it! So I ended up ordering the chicken instead and even that was very red inside it like it is undercooked. To top everything off a had a look at their hygiene rating online and shocked to see it is rated a 1!!!! A shame because it is in a lovely location and the management really need to sort these issues out.

1 star food hygiene rating from a recent inspection by the council in December 2021! Highlighted by local press as had no idea… Won’t be returning until major improvements made - concerns around how food is handled and stored and management of food safety…(!)It’s disappointing to see such a low score and the third pub in the local area with a poor visit by Bracknell Forest EH

Top Notch spur of the moment Sunday lunch (just like in the old days !) - fabulous Sunday roast and great service from Peter. Lovely garden for the end of day sunshine.

An early Christmas Dinner with friends. What a lovely pub and scrumptious food. Everyone in our group loved the food. Would defo return. The staff were very friendly too

My first time here and the food was delicious! Together me and my family ordered almost all the desserts on the menu and were unable to choose a favourite! So best go try them all haha

Popped into The Rose & Crown for a late lunch while in the area on a Saturday afternoon.Very covid safe, tables spaced apart. The staff were very friendly, clean pub and facilities.The fishcakes were delicious, burger and fries were tasty. However, the chicken was bland, which was disappointing.The dessert wasn't too sweet and the marmalade with it was lovely.The pub started to fill up from 5.30pm with a nice atmosphere, the pub has a nice decor and lovely fireplace.

Probably one of the best meals I’ve ever had the pleasure of enjoying.I had the fish and chips. The batter was light and crispy with meaty fish the chips where again perfect.I had a taste of the my dads steak, that was better than the fish and chips. It was an absolute delight to try and will be my choice next time I go.Fantastic food and service all around.
