One of the longest established gay venues in Brighton. A no frills friendly gay bar, some nights with a DJ and drag act. Worth a visit if your in town

Loved this place. Its small but interior and atmosphere is good. One can enjoy a lot. They also have karaok every weekend.

Great bar, very friendly staff and customers for Saturday night. The place was packed but we got served politely and courteously and as quick as the staff could (like I said it was packed) It was quite obvious our group was straight but we experienced absolutely no discrimination or weren't made to feel anything other than welcome, had a great chat to the security staff and one of the bar staff whilst outside smoking would definitely recommend this bar to anyone visiting Brighton and will definitely be back again to enjoy the hospitality shown to us at this great venue.

The first time I came here I had an amazing night, unfortunately the next time I came with a friend I did not have my ID (I am 23 and do not usually need it) and was very abruptly thrown out, I was very understanding of the fact that he was only doing his job and I asked if I could at least use the toilet before I was thrown out and was met with more rudeness and was told very aggressively to leave. It was a very uncomfortable and unexpected encounter especially as there was such a warm atmosphere the last time. The rude doorman really let it down and as I can see from other reviews, I am not alone in this. If you can get past the gatekeeper it is a very enjoyable night but best of luck with him. Such a shame as I was ready for this to become my regular because of how much I liked it the first time.

They are racist and unwelcoming to people of colour. I went there with my girlfriend for her 31st birthday. When we came in, there was instantly an uncomfortable atmosphere like we were intruders and everyone was staring at us. The bar staff asked us for ID (even though it's clear we are over 25) and didnt ask anyone else. When I challenged this, I was met with attitude and then the other bartenders joined in making this an uncomfortable atmosphere for us. We left soon after, it is such a shame that we wanted to join in a community atmosphere but were treated like this. There is clearly a long way to go with so-called community spaces.

Wonderful atmosphere in this busy pub. The bar staff and dj here were wonderfully friendly and made us feel very welcome, even tbough we were well over 30! Certainly the best gay bar we visited in Brighton. Congratulation, Bulldog Boys - you were brilliant.
