Caffe Italiano in Brighton and Hove

Excellent service and coffee the food is also tasty and well presented

I was a regular customer at Cafe Italia because my kids loved the play area. I always respect the minimum spend to enter the play area which is around £7 and have no problem paying that. However I dont really like the coffee because they dont use professional alternative milks and the same quality I can make at home but its an easy compromise to make for my kids. Today I went in for 3 cakes, and a Coffee that would have been way over £12 but I was refused because my mum had her nero coffee in hand that she bought earlier. Not sure how its better for the owner to get £0 instead of £12 because someone decides to buy a cake instead of the coffee because of the quality of the coffee. It the branding would bother me so much I would offer to give them an empty cup to not take the nero upstairs or I would serve professional coffee so they dont feel the need to bring their own.

Ok so I've lived in Brighton for years and have been to George Street many times so passing by I was drawn in by the chilled music vibe of the place,(which i have to say i don't understand why other cafes dont play music) relaxing tunes to get you to chill and order some food. I got a Jacket Potato with Tuna Mayo Sweetcorn...HUGE portion which I wasn't expecting at all .I looked over at a couple who were having Spaghetti and once again,sizeable portions so I assume its the same with all their food.So if you need filling up at v reasonable prices,£6,for jackpot,then throughly recommend this place ,5*

A friendly local cafe that serves a great coffee and yummy selection of food, always with a smile. A nice atmosphere and great space for little children in the upstairs level. If you are going to buy local and independent then here is your place. Particularly great for families.

Vegan review:Was out walking the streets of Hove, getting to know the area a little. Stumbled across this independent cafe and had a pit stop for a brew!The cafe was warm and inviting given the -2 temperature and blustery wind chill.There was no queue and we were served straight away, we were easily seated downstairs with the choice of a few free tables.My husband got an Americano; I ordered a large soy chai latte (other alternative milk was also available). We didn’t have to wait for long. It came to just over £5.There is a single toilet upstairs, there was a baby gate at the top of the stairs, lots of parents and children were in this crèche-esque type play area with lots of kids toys dotted around. The toilet upstairs had baby changing facilities and was big enough to accommodate manoeuvre if you are wanting to take your kids in.I would return here!
