Arguably the best tapas in Brighton. Very traditional with friendly, professional service and excellent food. Portions are quite big so be careful not to over order!

I can’t believed I’ve lived in Brighton for so long and have only just had food here. Went here with a friend for lunch and the food was so good that I had to leave a review (even though I don’t normally leave reviews) between the two of us we shared four dishes and they were all equally amazing. We had the croquetas, berenjenas con miel (aubergines with honey) patatas bravas and chorizo don Carlos - all of the dishes were authentic and really delicious. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be coming back again very soon!

Wide selection of typical tapas, good sized portions and very tasty. Friendly responsive staff. Small and popular..so suggest you book.

Warm & friendly welcome to the restaurant. There's a huge variety of goodies that you can order for any taste. We got 10 different plates and all of them were high quality and very delicious. Up to the Mediterranean standards!!!!I found the presentation fascinating since the guy who was serving our table was announcing every plate when he would bring it with some details and sense of humor.Fantastic sangria and BOM BOM coffee!Very pleased and totally recommend it!Good to get a reservation cause it's busy every day.Enjoy 😁

One of the best tapas restaurants I have eaten in. Make sure you book as we were lucky, just went in on the off chance and got the last slot of the evening. A popular place and varied menu.

I’ve had very nice Sopa Marisco (shellfish soup) and Mussels in tomato sauce. Seafood was tender and tasted very fresh. It’s a very rare to find a place where they can actually cook seafood, even in Brighton. In most places it tastes cook from frozen and rubbery. At Casa Don Carlos prices are very good too! I am very impressed and will definitely be back soon. Because I used to work as a chef I have a few notes: I couldn’t taste chilli nor white wine in mussels sauce, and it tasted very much like tomato purée from a tube unfortunately. Maybe you can make your own passata instead of using ready one? It would taste so much better. And a bread needs an upgrade, I’m sure local bakeries do very nice baguettes ;) It’s just a friendly note as my food was really delicious and can’t wait to come back. Muchas gracias! All the best!

Another great little place. Booking advised as it is always heaving when you walk past.We had a bottle of cava, some bread and alioli, 4 or 5 plates of food, some Spanish hazelnut Liqueur and a port and a creme Caramel. Totes delish came to around £100.The food we ordered was...Potatas BravasFlambéd chorizoHam croquettesGrilled prawnsDeep fried calamariGot a bit stuck in with the food before I remembered to take some pictures lol.

Been going to this place over a decade. Used to be one of the better tapas place in the UK until my recent visit.Food were definitely nowhere as good as used to be.If you are fan of pulpo a la Gallega like me, don’t even bother to order from here anymore. They used to be 70-80% as good as you could get it in Galicia region, just look at the photo, is like tomatoe, lemon, cucumber with octopus as garnish!!!!! What a insulting dish.As I have been going to this place for years, I know how they used to serve this dish. I sarcastically joke to the staff saying it must be ‘inflation’, the male staff shamelessly said ‘yes’ back to me!!!!Come on, you are running as a Spanish tapas place, this is by far one of the signature dish and to present the portion like this???? Just charge few pounds more to cover and serve something not embarrassing yourself!!!All other dishes I had were very bland and disappointing. Like I said I have been to this place for years and they are definitely nowhere as good as it used to be.Avoid at ALL COST to go to this place. It’s a shame as they used to be very decent!!!!! (I even held a 25 people bday dinner there once!)Shame and shame. 1 star as being generous.

Lovely lunch. I loved in Ibiza for 21 years and the gazpacho and Ali Oli was as good as anything I ate there. The whole meal was delicious. Great service. Highly recommend.
