Amazing. Been here at least 4 times in the last 2 years. Always have incredible service, homely and welcoming, incredible fresh fish and seafood and gorgeous wine. It will most likely remain one of my ultimate favourite restaurants in Brighton.

The restaurant was charming... the prices and food quality, were not.Music kept getting interrupted by YouTube adverts. Mussels were tiny and we were charged £3.50 for bread to dip in the sauce.Kept getting nudged as I tried to eat by people walking past inside the establishment.

I really enjoyed my meal here a couple of weeks ago, the only reason it is not 5 stars is that my friends meal which was chips and scampi was a bit pricey but maybe that is just me. However, I had a seafood risotto which I felt was fairly priced which was delicious and absolutely packed with seafood. Usually I get disappointed because restaurants will put a little seafood on top and then underneath is just pasta. I ate the top layer and was delighted to see a mixed ocean of seafood underneath with just a bit of risotto holding the sauce in place. Perfection!!! Will definitely come again abd would recommend and possibly try the lobster if they have similarly generous portions of loster as they did with the risotto. I live in the area and would definitely come here again. Waiter who was a dapper older chap was lovely and friendly and I loved the feel of this welcoming warm atmosphere. (Also apologies it took so long to post, I tried to post on trip advisor, had some problens and then got sidetracked by other things).

LEFT IN THE LURCH!On 13th October I phoned and booked a table for yesterday 11th November at 12noon.A friend had eaten here in the past and so we travelled from Chichester for a day out and what we hoped would be a really nice lunch mid shopping. We arrived on time to find the restaurant closed!!Really disappointing and obviously not a restaurant we will consider in the future.A notice in the window states the restaurant is closed Monday to Wednesday and maybe this needs updating.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Went here for breakfast but left as the food was inedible (see photo). Took a long time to come, tea arrived cold, food was absolutely inedible. We noticed we'd been over charged and she said it's service charge, then when we said the breakfast was inedible she shrugged her shoulders (assuming owner - lady with black hair). Awful, please don't eat here.

A shambles from start to finish. Waited over an hour for food and then it didn't all arrive at the same time. Drinks not arrived correctly, one had a hair in it. Food not great, rude waiter and sat at a very narrow table which we were clearing ourselves. Waiter tried over charging on bill but did take of the cost of service charge and one bottle of wine as compensation when this was pointed out.

Walking along Market Street (in the lanes) came upon this quaint little restaurant. Bit of History for ya:. 13th century fisherman's cottage apt as it's located in the oldest part of the Lanes... (As per D'Arcy's pamphlet)Food was very tastey; I had the muscles with garlic bread. Wine, Castillo del Moro crisp not to dry or sweet... Desert; panna cotta. Lovely meal, took the long way round (walk to digest) home. Oh and the waiter was very friendly.Toilet Facilities: Unisex not my fav type of facilities. Located up two flights of steep stairs (13th century) bit puffed out when I got to the top. However, there was toilet paper, soap & hot water... And they were relatively clean, could do with a refurbishment (just my opinion).

Amazing food and service. The staff is friendly, polite, always around to bring everything you need. The location is good everything fantastic.

Very disappointed. Wish I read the reviews before I went there. The place is shabby, waited ages just to get a drink and the linguine with lobster that we ordered and was assured were delicious, turned out to be inedible. The linguine was so overcooked and swimming in a sauce that was not seasoned and just tasteless. Such a waste of our hard earned money as their dishes are not cheap. Never again!!

The waiter is a very entertaining guy. He knows how to serve. Lighting is great and the tables are set with proper table wear and a romantic flower. The red brick street with the outdoor tables make the restaurant look fancy. However, my steak was disappointing. The meat was waaaay too tough. The slow cooked shank was nice and soft but too salty. I recommend the soup of the day. That was fantastic. They didn't serve bread with it though.
