Donatello in Brighton and Hove

Hot damn that's good food. I found myself having to try everyone's plates because I just couldn't accept it was that good across the board and it was. Excited to go back and try more of the menu

Great food here, lots to choose from. Definitely book in advance it's quite popular, saves you waiting outside.

I asked for my main and starter to be gluten free. The waitress asked the kitchen if my starter was so was aware of an allergy. I specifically asked for my main to be gluten free, the waitress said yes and repeated it back to me, when the food arrived they told me that that dish can’t be gluten free and I hadn’t mentioned that I wanted it gluten free. The gluten free pizza that I ended up with was great! I just wish it was communicated from the start.

Great location in the lanes of Brighton. Very delicious food, both the apptizzers and the pasta were really good. Great value for money, pasta dishes come in big portions!! You can get the deal of 1 appetiser and 1 main for 12.50£. The staff are very friendly and welcoming.

Met 2 friends for lunch, which is a first visit for me. They had the Lasagne and Cannelloni and I had the Tagliatelle with Salmon. Well their choice was excellent, but the Tagliatelle was poor. Good pasta in a fish sauce, but where was the Salmon? There were very few tiny pieces of fish. I would give the menu another chance, but steer clear of the Tagliatelle.

We placed an order the eve before to pick up meal for 3 at 12pm on the Fri between Xmas + New Year for Mothers Birthday. It was fabulous, could not fault anything - the service was brilliant (ready + waiting for us), food was packaged beautifully + tasted fantastic. Great value + it made Mums Birthday. None of us wanted to eat in crowded restaurant so this was perfect solution. Thank you Donatello you did us proud.

Great location, and one of the best places for pasta. The dish I had it was full of flavour with enough cream to keep it moist plenty of vegetables. Staff are very friendly and approachable and nothing was too much for them. The only let down was the dessert which I found it was to cold and the cream it was from the aerosol can.

Wow! Absolutely unreal food! The pasta was so good! I can’t say for the pizza as I didn’t try. Service was great, staff were friendly and on the ball. Cocktail menu was top notch, my personal fav Hugo! I didn’t take any pictures this one time :( definitely recommend tho! Plenty of veggie/vegan dishes and a great offer 2 courses for £12 so super affordable. Don’t give it a miss!

We have been here twice because it is really a nice restaurant!!! Very fair prices, good food, atmosphere and friendly staff. I recommend you to book a table because it can be very busy at night. I would definitely recommend this restaurant when you are in Brighton.

One of the best Italian restaurants I’ve been to. Their pizza base recipe is perfected, so any topping I’ve had on top is always a success. 10/10 for food, service and the actual restaurant itself. Feels like you’re in Italia!
