The outside seating is great for watching the world go by in the lanes with a coffee or pint. the food is good and the staff seem friendly. It can get very busy in here.

We went to the Dorset for somewhere different to the chain restaurants/fast food. The staff were lovely and the food was amazing 👏.I ordered the smashed burger and my fiancée had chicken schnitzel and they were both absolutely gorgeous 😍Food was hot and fresh, service was excellent and prices good for being dead central to the lanes. Will definitely be back.

The waiters are nice and attentive but when it comes to the food I won’t be able to give any review. After1h 15 I left the restaurant due to the wait for my food. However I didn’t pay for the many drinks I waited with because the manager felt bad for me.

Perfectly serviceable pub with pub food as you might expect. Nothing out of the ordinary but nothing bad at all.If you want pub food then you won't be disappointed. This is by no means a negative review. However it is in the middle of an area that might expect something else! For this, I admire the place.

We got one starter (6.50) and one pint of diet and one half of Diet Coke. The bill came to 15.95, happy to spend money where it’s warranted but couldn’t believe it. I thought they had given us the wrong bill to start with but the pint of Diet Coke was tallied up at 5.00. Is this normal?! Anyway, we won’t be going back. They also made a mistake with the menu and didn’t have mushy peas but didn’t let us know when taking our order so we had to cancel the mains after getting our drinks and starter to go somewhere else and needed to leave over half of our drinks anyway.

A warm, cosy, and welcoming bar and restaurant. In a previous incarnation I worked as a kitchen assistant in Brittany, many years ago. These mussels transported me right back! Maybe it was the freshness? We loved the woodburner and the vintage soul soundtrack too. Can't better it.

We had a huge Christmas party and I was not impressed with the food, main dish beef Wellington which was spicy! The staff didn't know if they where coming or going and no real hospitality! One waitress looked terrified the whole time. When we asked for bits they'd go off and not come back! This was my first time back in 15 yrs and it was rubbish then!

Stopped in to maybe grab a bite and a drink while out with friends. Service not that great, had two drink orders (that weren't ours) turn up while we waited for our drinks and had the host approach us about ordering food while still sat there with no drinks.Food delivered and portion size for the side order of chips doesn't correspond to the cost involved. We did try to feed back our opinion (politely) and got told there was no need to be "rude" and didn't really like the way some of the food was delivered to the table with fingers in places where they really shouldn't of been.We paid and left knowing that our opinions on the Dorset have now changed for the worst when it had generally been a good bet for somewhere to be.

First visit in 5 years. Still a great pub with great atmosphere good beer and food. The waiting staff did an excellent job keeping on top of a very busy evening. Highly recommend.
