Good Friends in Brighton and Hove

A waitress was really bad service. We were misunderstanding about the set menu and she was shouting at us. Moreover the duck was served as terrible as the picture. Like there were eaten before serving to us. The duck taste was good but other foods was not tasty at all.

Fresh and tasty, especially you can see the chef put his heart and skills into cooking Chinese food. We can’t wait for the next visit.

2 of us for lunch (only people in the restaurant on the Sunday) hair on top of our rice, we didn’t complain, they added service charge and no real apology. Overall food was basic, service not that friendly. Food hygiene sticker outside says 5 - yet checking the food standards website it is only 3.

Can’t really say this place lives up to the name ‘good friends’. Distinctly unfriendly service from one waitress (the other was marginally more pleasant). We found the food to be average at best, but customer care was so poor that it was not a good experience.

Honest review: I had the best experience at Good Friends last week. I have visited many times and every time I am impressed. The service was amazing, the food was fresh and tasty and the wait for it wasn’t very long. The portion sizes are big and definitely worth the money. With that in mind, it wasn’t too pricey which is always a bonus! I would describe the atmosphere in the restaurant as lovely and calm. They also offer delivery via Deliveroo. I will be visiting again very soon 😍. I highly recommend this restaurant!!

Never disappointed! Always a great meal and the best authentic Chinese good in Brighton! Very friendly staff too

As a Chinese I always chose Chinese restaurant, however I notice one of chinese waitress not so friendly towards me, maybe just becuz we both from same country and that’s why no need to friendly to me? That’s only reason I gave 2 star. But the other staff, especially the waiter(male) are very friendly, appreciate it.

Honest review (from November 2020): Take away pick up - service was speedy was not kept waiting. Spent £27+ but the tasty dishes were worth the inflated price. All in all very impressed with how tasty everything was! Staff could do with a smile though.Came down to Brighton for a weekend and ordered:Prawn fried rice - very tastyPrawn in black bean sauce - spicy and probably the best tasting black bean sauce I've ever tasted and I'm a huge fan of Chinese food! Will definitely be looking this place up again!

Good taste and decent size portion. Missing a choice of starters tho which might be a let down for some. However, they have hot pot!

expensive, but delicious food and great service (10% service charge) would definitely come again, all the food we ordered was amazing especially the pork belly. Paying £6 for rice was kind of ridiculous though
