"The Great Eastern offers guests the best local cask ale and cold, crisp lagers and craft beers. While specialising in whiskey from America, Scotland and Ireland, we also offer a wide selection of gin, tequila and rum. As we don't have a kitchen, we are all about the drinks, and the music. We are small, so screens and game machines are not our thing, but music really is. We soundtrack our days with the best blues and country, jazz, swing, soul and rock and roll, and on Fridays and Saturdays we host some of Brighton's favourite record spinners. If you like the sound of that, we'd love to see you some time soon."

Everyone who works here is lovely. Unfortunately this place has become more popular and so more dodgy types have been coming in, but everyone has made sure that every woman/non-binary person feels safe here! A truly lovely place to hang out just with friends and to make friends, and a whiskey bar so you know its good!

Just the best atmosphere, music and personable bar staff make it a real fun experience you want from a pub. D.J's are brilliant too. Feel like it's the ultimate front room vibe. Love the place and feel better for it👆

Lovely cosy pub, friend accidentally left their laptop and bag there one evening. It was safe & sound and looked after by the staff. Live Vinyl DJ was great for a Saturday night atmosphere. Would definitely go again!

Lovely pub & staff, cosy and friendly vibe. Good selection of beers and lots of whiskeys. Some outdoor tables at the front and small backyard.

Charming, warm environment with lovely bar staff. Great selection of scotches and bourbon.If it takes your fancy you can even play some chess, though the quality of the games may be subject to number of drinks consumed.

Great pub tucked away, 'jukebox' is always on point, beer is fresh, place is clean and staff great. My critical thing as ever is hygiene and toilets are always clean, unless some guy misses the urinal happens but not a big deal, soap water paper all present. Pawsome!
