Island Takeaway in Brighton and Hove

I’ve been coming to this place for a Little while now never had an issue but the last 3 times I’ve been to this place the prices I’m sure he just makes them up on the customer as he’s been going up every time and wen asked about it he laughs and says everything’s gone up (kinda hard to believe as I was only there the week before and he said the same thing then) this time the chicken was terrible I’m more then sure it was this place that gave me food poisoning . Can’t say it’ll ever be seeing me again lost a customer over £3-4

Ordered guiness punch which was £4.00 instead got a can of Pineapple soda . Phoned them and was told next time we give the punch. What !!!! ???How will they remember next time. I really do not believe so a can of pineapple soda cost me £4.00.NOT HAPPY. Please check ur order before the delivery guy scarpers.

It's nice food but nothing special. For the money there's much better value; £12 for a single takeaway tub of (chicken on the bone) curry and rice is average at best.

We were looking for a takeaway with flavour! Bored with bland Indian and Chinese takeaways, we were really pleased with our takeaway from Island! A really healthy portion, and very tasty! Oneil is a friendly fella and we had a good chat whilst he was serving. Island will now be a regular Friday night for us now.

Having never been to Jamaica this is the closest I can imagine you'd get to it on Edward Street.The pub next door allows their patrons to bring in food which gives you three choices;1. eat in2. take out3. pubmy picture sums it up.. their food was too good to wait before taking a picture. The Chicken was succulent, mildly spicey and moorish. The Ox tail had little meat to offer but the flavours were delicious.The service and attitude was authentic which spares every bit of attention to be spent on the food. Energy which isn't wasted.

Amazing and delicious food and very hearty portions. I must’ve gotten half a chicken for 8£ and omg how good it was. No hesitation would marry the cook.
