We had high expectations of this "little gem" but walked away very disappointed. On the menu it said free tea with breakfast but informed that wasn't the case anymore. One of the staff was incredibly rude and belittled my friend in such a loud manner that everyone in the cafe heard. The thing is my friend had ordered a particular breakfast but the staff misheard and put in something else, however, when one member of staff tried to explain my friend was indeed correct she was belittled too and hushed. The food is ok but not worth the price and could have been served on a saucer. Will not return

Excellent: warm staff that embody the city of Brighton; delicious locally sourced food; more than reasonable prices.

My partner used to come here pre covid when he worked in Brighton and has been going on about it for months. Visited and it did not disappoint. Fabulous service and food.

We had an incredible time at Joe’s cafe this last week. Julia and Andy opened their shop especially for our school group out of the Netherlands. They treated us so incredibly well and all of the food and drinks were delicious. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a wonderful time both in terms of food quality and atmosphere. We can’t wait to come back next year!

Best place for breakfast! Morning sun shines right in, you can eat outside in front of the cafe, quiet street. Great food and service!

Cute little cafe with a simple menu and relaxed vibes. Good for a variety of breakfast options. I ordered breakfast #1 which was sausage, bacon, beans, egg and toast and it was very tasty. I also ordered a decaf coffee with oatmilk which was nice. My partner ordered the veggie hash which was huge and also super yummy. We weren't served for a while but managed to order at the till in the end. It's good that there's a condiments box on each table so you don't need to ask for ketchup or brown sauce. Be aware of the more limited opening hours. Definitely worth a visit in you're in that locale. Enjoy.

Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and tasty food, mainly hashes and breakfasts. VERY large portions!

A gluten free breakfast beyond belief! Will not need to eat for the rest of the day! Yum yum.

Good value for money and lovely staff ! The food is good, and there is plenty of vegan and vegetarian options. The hashes are greasy but that is exactly how they are being sold as, so no complains here! The portions are quite big, sl5 they will five you recyclable containers if you can't finish. There is different types of self service watter available too (lemon, mint and plain usually) as well as many different sauces. Love the place, the coffee, the food and the staff! Deffinetly recommend for a treat yourself brunch (they have some discounts like student too).

Great tasting, quality breakfasts at a reasonable price. They come in three different sizes - big, bigger and biggest! Staff are friendly and courteous, has outside seating and a huge selection of condiments as well as a variety of different menu choices. Pictured is 'Jane's Spanish Hash' from the extensive hash menu. Highly recommended 👍🏼
