Pelicano in Brighton and Hove

Cool, rustic spot with a cosy vibe and pavement seating for lattes, pastries and bagel sandwiches.

Amazing quirky coffee shop. My go to cafe and I am very sad to be moving from Brighton as it is away from this lovely place!Cake is quite pricey but there's enough for 2 people as the slices are huge and it is delicious cake. (Definitely try the Nutella and banana!)Upstairs there's a lovely table seat which overlooks the lanes and the sun comes in beautifully. My partner is quite picky with his coffee and only likes great quality coffee and he rates their coffee very highly. The staff are always very lovely, friendly and helpful also. Would definitely recommend.

Very nice! 9/10. Bangin' coffees. Monstrous slices of delicious cakes, and tray bakes, in a wide variety of flavours, including vegan and gluten-free varieties. The staff are very helpful, friendly and welcoming. There's seating inside on the ground and first floors with additional seating on the pavement out front and a yard out back. Recommended.

Good coffee. Small inside with a few tables, but more seating is available outside. Staff were friendly.

The latte I had here today was really lovely!Great flavour to the coffee, perfect strength and left no bitter aftertaste. I also had a slice of vegan Lemon and Blueberry cake which was yummy and a generous size. Really friendly member of staff who explained the selection of cakes too as there’s a lot to choose from. I recommend a visit and I’m looking forward to going back again soon!

Lovely coffee place and nice atmosphere. Ordered a tasty flat white and pot of tea - would recommend! The banoffee cake was amazing, so fresh and light and the brownie was yummy too! Dog friendly too which is a real bonus. Will be re-visiting when next in town.

My current fav, independent coffee, based in Brighton Lanes, Sydney Street. Visited during 2021 & 2022. Exceptional mocha aswell as perfect flat white & smooth latte. Takeaway roasted beans, which they kindly offer to grind for your taste.

Visited 5 years ago and came back again!Still a cozy and lovely cafe Their bakeries are really nice!

It’s a really nice independent coffee shop with a very attentive staff. The reason I gave two stars:1. The garden smells funny because either of the tree or the toilet putting people off from using it even though it’s very beautiful.2. The coffee is under brewed and tastes very sour to the point that it’s not edible much.
