The Grenadier in Brighton and Hove

This is a superb pub! Friendly enough to be welcomed like a local, big enough to disappear and get some work done with a pint! Food is superb and VERY reasonably priced. Staff are great and quickly remember what you drink - has become my local whilst working away from home!

Our food order arrived at the table very promptly and was hot and delicious. The bar staff and waiters were friendly and efficient. However, due to the colourful language of some of the customers, this is not the place for young children.

Average at best. Beer and food quite cheap, but that's about it. Atmosphere not great nor is the rest of the clientele - Some guys had a fight while we were there.

The Grenadier is one of those pubs with a real great sense of community, which is hard to find in this day and age. Suitable for families, friends, groups, couples and co-workers - The Grenadier is a great location for a relaxed yet vibrant evening.The staff are extremely friendly and Richard and Ollie run a great team behind the bar, in the kitchen and on the floor.Their customer service is fantastic and they have managed to maintain a great standard throughout with their staff.With three indoor areas to choose from plus two outside areas, there’s a location for everyone and it’s clear to see everyone is welcome in this heartwarming pub in the heart of Hangleton.

Came here yesterday with my friend for food and drinks for a very long overdue catch up. The atmosphere was great and the food was excellent!!! Both our steaks were cooked perfectly, food was hot too.

Came in the other day for a drink before work, first time at this pub and was very happy with the service i received. The bird on the bar was so welcoming, Leah I believe her name was, gothy kinda looking girl, made a proper good espresso martini. Will come back again.

Great reasonably priced food and drinks. Just a shame that a lot of people in there are noisy and swear a fair bit! Very nice helpful staff too 😊

Steak and doom bar pie was inedible!! The steak was tough and the pie microwaved to within an inch of its life, making the Pastry like cardboard! Microwave mash to! The southern fried chicken pieces were dry and over fried! Barely ate any of it , asked the guy how they reheat the already cooked pie and he said large microwave!! Not sure how this pub gets so many good reviews on trip adviser!!🤨🤔we rarely eat here and when we do it’s never good! Always live in hope that we have a nice meal but not sure it will happen!

Came in with my boy for a meal and had a really lovely time. The bartender Leah was very accommodating and welcoming and went above and beyond to ensure my boy had a fun time trying to get a toy from the claw machine. The food was lovely, and the atmosphere warm.

Hi Richard. The reason for giving one star is due to the fact everything we ordered had to be cancelled and then refunded and reordered for what was available as a lot was out of stock. The refund never went through and my partner has been back in several times now explaining the £50 has not been refunded back onto his card and just got fobbed off that it takes a few days? This was over a month ago. I have reference numbers where we ordered on the app but it was refunded up at the bar, even though the refund definitely hasn't gone through.
