The Laine Deli in Brighton and Hove

Until today, we loved North Laine cafe, the food is amazing and the location is great. However, today the customer service was not acceptable. It was 3 of us and a baby in the stroller and, noticing at least 3 empty tables outside (tables with 2 chairs, but where 3 people could have been accommodated), we went to ask if it is was possible to have lunch. The waitress' response was that there was not space for us, and said "goodbye" waking away. She was fairly rude and did not offer (as always happens) to wait for another table to be available or suggested to go back a bit later on.We were speechless and pretty shocked by the whole thing and I don't want to think that our foreigner accent or the presence of our baby had nothing to do with it.Not sure we'll be back.

Superb. Fast, friendly service. Really great menu, loads of choice for all tastes. Fresh and excellent portions, liked the originality. The location is great too, plenty of seats. The ham hock and cheese loaded fries are a must.

Very nice Cafe for Breakfast and Lunch. Enjoyed to eat in the outside area independent of the weather. Good service as well.

Thinking of treating your self to a nice big breakkie? Are you craving a goooood hashbrown? Then this is the place you should go. The place is busy for a reason; the food is banging. Also conveniently on the way to the train station so ideal to take your visiting mates / in-laws to as you see them off.

Brilliant breakfast, coffee and fizz...this place is always my go to when I'm in Brighton...which is often! What more can one say?RegardsDarren

What a lovely place, i went for the chicken bacon avocado sandwich. My partner went for a salad. Both very tasty, really good portions and I found it cheap.

Wonderful cozy cafe! Served by brilliant next day people with yesterday’s glitter still fully embedded into their skin. I loved this element ✨😂 such delicious food! No vegan butter could be fixed without to much of a problem.. but they did supply me with marmite so all was not lost! Their homemade hash browns are little blobs of heaven…. Order four of your hungry ✨😂My man ate the vegan eggs Benedict and loved it! Super wonderful coffee and location.

Amazing Brunch. I have been to at least 5 different brunch places on my 7 days trip in Brighton, this one is definitely the best! The coffee is also very impressive! And the food is at reasonable price👍🏼

I never post reviews but this place is so lovely. Delicious veggie breakfast, each item was so carefully seasoned, great flavours. Staff are so happy to serve you and there is a great vibe. And when I got lost in a book and let my coffee go cold, they made me a new one for free! Will definitely be back :)

Super lovely outside space with retractable roof. Good range of sarnies and brunches.As a vegan, it was off menu but was able to add plant based sausages to the avocado sourdough. Cam with crispy kale garnish and dried rose petals. Super cute and really tasty.Only extra would be more vegan sandwich choices please!
