The Old Bank Steak & Ribs in Brighton and Hove

Went here for the first time a few weeks ago as recommended to me by a friend, the service was exceptional & the steak was cooked to perfection, will definitely be back.

Sorry, not a very good rating for a few reasons. Firstly, service is good and attentive but not intrusive. Draft beer to start with was a little bit flat and the following white wine wasn't chilled enough to be enjoyable.Rib eye was tender and served medium, but hadn't been left to rest so the plate and accompanied salad wasn't a particularly pretty site (even when delivered to the table) - It should have been sent back.Personally, I'd also say that the tables area little on the small side.Overall just an average experience.Now my big gripe! I am generally a good 'tipper' but I really (really) object to a service charge of 10% being applied and put on the bill. Now I know I can ask for this to be removed but it doesn't belong there and I shouldn't be placed in a situation of asking for it to be taken off.

Very happy with the experience overall. I tried the Ribeye steak which was delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly to my liking, full of flavour, and juicy. The chips are golden and crispy. I recommend getting the garlic butter sauce on the side for extra flavour, it was great with both the chips and the steak.

We had two rump steaks which were cooked perfectly to our taste. The restaurant is nicely decorated, clean and chic. It's very relaxing and the staff are super friendly. Our server Tom was the perfect host, attentive but not in our faces. I highly recommend a visit here.

We had a wonderful evening at the taverna last week & will definately return on our next visit to Brighton. The meal was superb - steaks cooked perfectly - all the food was beautifully presented. There was a lovely atmosphere and we had the most amazing waitress (Sara) who went out of her way to ensure our evening was perfect - many waitresses could learn a lot from Sara - she was outstanding and that is why we gave 5 stars....😊

Had the sirlion steak medium rare. Great choices on the menu, lots of great food. Pina colada was just right!! Very helpful and friendly staff definitely recommend a visit for a nice dinner and evening out!! 😁

Staying in Brighton for a few days and the old bank was recommended to us by a friend and it was amazing. Great staff, great service, amazing drinks and phenomenal food. Definitely a place to visit.

300g rump was tender but lacking in juices. Rice was soft and sticky but did not go so well in contrast with the steak. Salad was delicious, creamy feta cheese was a nice touch. Despite being 62 year old from India I ordered a chocolate milkshake. I did not regret it. Overall a fantastic meal.

Went her for lunch on Saturday.Wow what a meal!The staff are beyond polite, attentive and friendly which makes the meal even more satisfying.Very good cost for what you get and its all cooked fantastically! I had the rib eye steak and my partner had swordfish steak and we both loved it.The drinks were nice and we were always asked if we needed more or anything whenever the waitress walked past us!The outdoor area was well lit, was very comfy and was a nice ambient area!Would 100% recommend.
