Great ambiance, friendly service and an extremely tasty sharing fish platter for £15 which was perfect for lunch.

Good pub, however they served my first pint of Guinness in a non-standard glass

We visited earlier today and had a meal just after lunchtime. We were so full afterwards we had no evening meal! Generous portions served in a timely fashion by wonderful staff. The menu was reasonably priced and we will definitely be going back one day!

Christmas 3 hour experience!Went to the pump house for Christmas Dinner... after hearing great things about this pub...I can honestly say the experience was awful! We booked for 1500.. we got served drinks very quickly, but waited an hour for starters. Nothing was said as to why it was taking so long. Other couples started to ask why the long wait, and then the manager came out and said it was part of a 3 hour experience (considering we were booked for 1500-1745...which wouldn't have been 3 hours!) The couple on another table said how awful the turkey was (frozen veg, which was rock hard) then another couple stated the same.. so we decided to leave it as it was now 2 hours and still not had the main. We paid £120 deposit and asked for a refund, as basically we only had the starter of pate, prawn cocktail and a pastry tart... hardly filling! Yes we had drinks, but that was non alcoholic lager, soft drinks and 1 of our party out of 4 having alcoholic beverage.... today we saw we had been refunded £11.45... REALLY...Not happy and will be seeing the manager, who I can say had the personality and attitude of basil fawlty and nothing was his issue!. Wasn't going to write a review, but seeing this joke of a refund, if it wasn't laughable, I'd cry!

We attended the Pump House for Christmas dinner....5 courses, "FESTIVE MEAL" that's a joke. We saved for this occasion and got excited however was left upset and unimpressed. Staff were uninviting and more concerned with their secret Santa gift exchange. The wait for service was intermittent there was a serious lack ofhospitality. One of our drinks glasses had lipstick stains on it from a previous customer. The main (Christmas Dinner) was two cold peace of turkey, 1x carrot, 1x parsnip and greens all cold and 4x roast potatoes (Which was hot) small disc of stuffing, 1x small sausage and gravy. Not value for money. Think twice before visiting here and spending£181.34 as we did.Christmas day dinner was ruined you could do better at home avoid it at all cost.If the pump house read this do the right thing and refund at a minimum half the bill as your effort was pathetic.

Came here for Christmas dinner , safe to say this was an AWFUL experience . I sat upstairs with my family and there were 4 other tables and we all waited over two hours for mains that we had to leave. Manager was also a horrible man , an absolute piece of work. NEVER COME HERE. All of us upstairs complained , all 5 tables complained together and the manager was just horribly argumentative and defensive. The food was also disgusting and the dining restaurant was freezing , all of us were still wearing our coats . Overall just an absolute disgraceful experience and the manager was honestly the worst .

Although exceptionally busy the service was fantastic. Staff were extremely busy but couldn't be any more friendly. Great pub grub and overall I would highly recommend a visit.
