Great atmosphere and seems like a well run pub with a nice mix of people

This was the midway spot for myself & my husband to meet a couple of friends and none of us had been here before but we're definitely going back!Food was delicious. Two of us are vegan and they have many vegan options. They make their ice cream there so it's truly unique and it tastes delicious.Staff were very attentive and friendly. Really great value. Highly recommended.

Had the bacon and cheeseburger which tasted great. Chips were amazing.Ice cream and brownie was the best bit.

Atmosphere and bar staff are great, however the kitchen let's it down massively. You can't ruin burger and chips can you?....ah yes you can. No flavour in the burgers and the chips were cooked days ago by their dried out appearance. No thanks, plenty of other pubs around

This is a great pub, for sure. Last night I thought the skin on fries were very very bland. Sure they were salted at the end but I don't think they were during the cooking process, or the potatoes had zero flavour. Both our table and the two tables next to us felt the same and left a a lot of them.Don't let that put you off though, the staff are great and the food is generally very nice. Good selection of drinks too. Minor glitch.

Visited many times for family celebrations and had fabulous service and attention to detail by staff. Today was disappointing perhaps due to demand being Mothering Sunday. The pressure of catering to less than well planned bookings led to an unacceptable waiting time and forgotten meals. Hurriedly made up for and not well cooked or presented. Took it home for the dogs they enjoyed it.

Great thanks to the staff here. We held our mothers wake in the function room, and they couldn't have been kinder. We ordered food for 30 people I think but there was more than enough for a lot more. Bar service was great, someone at the function room bar the whole time. Plus they let us bring the dog in too.

What a nice pub! This is not your typical country pub, but it's still a great venue. Located right next to Portslade train station on a busy high street (often with railway crossing congestion) it is well located for a quick cheeky pint and a burger after work or a Sunday roast. There is an sizeable outdoor area, a few function rooms and lots of space for dining. It even has an icecream bar. The only downside is there is no parking, but the station car park is accessible for a small fee, and it is on numerous bus and train routes.

Such a nice lunch with my son. Really tasty lamb special with some great hot sauce (which is also for sale). The boy had sausage and chips Which were good quality and tasty chips, friendly staff and a jolly atmosphere. We will definitely be back.

Just had a great Sunday lunch and have to say experienced some of the best customer service I have received for a long while. A special mention for John who went out of his way to make sure we had a good time. The roast dinners were as good as always and the pudding was delicious. Thank you
