The Restaurant at Drakes in Brighton and Hove

Beautiful food! Beautiful service couldn't fault it 5*

Scallops as a starter were fantastic, the main I chose;however left a lot to be desired!I opted for the skate and shrimp, as the restaurant is on the sea front I assumed the meal would be exemplary. To my disappointment the shrimp were rubbery and extremely overcooked and the skate was tasteless and mushy. To cut a long story short; I left hungry!The service was good but then you do pay 12.5% gratuity!My partner took me for my birthday and though it was a fine dining experience and I enjoyed myself, it's not one that either of us feels we shall repeat.A real shame as it held so much potential.

Great Decor and food.The waiter let it down he was overbearing and certainly rude and overfamiliar. I think he was confused to whom was the customer..As I left he was picking his nose.A real let down to a lovely evening. I won't be returning. The tall head waiter on the other hand was very nice and professional You need more like him

Myself and my partner came here tonight for dinner.... The food was incredible! Well presented and cooked to perfection 👌🏻 the staff are so friendly and make you feel comfortable as soon as you walk in. Definitely would recommend

We were pleasantly surprised to find The Restaurant at Drakes. The food was perfect. The presentation a work of art. And the service prompt, professional and fun. Our waiter Mark was great, and fun too.

Food slightly cold, not matched that well on plate. The beef fillet and the veg felt a bit cobbled together. Average for price range. Excellent wine though. Pleasant interior.

Waiter was friendly and polite. The food was quite nice but the sauce with my main (the partridge) was really salty and the leg wrapped in pancetta was extremely dry - I couldn't finish my meal due to the saltiness which was ashame. Also, the pear tart I had for dessert only had 2 small bits of pear on it which is again, ashame, because it was actually tasty. However, the starter of venison was delicious. All in all a nice experience but not up to par for the cost; not something to rave about and I'm in 2 minds as to whether I'd visit again.

We enjoyed a superb dinner at Drake's on Saturday evening, Mark the Maitre d' was so pleasent from greeting us until departure, and the other members of the team were equally excellent. The delicious food was some of the best we have both tasted, and the thoughtful Happy Birthday plate for my partner after desert, was the icing on the cake. Looking forward to dining there again.

The food is delicious and service is very good. I really enjoyed the wine as well, it was matched perfectly to the food. I would definitely recommend the tasting menu. Price definitely matches the quality. Overall, a very good experience!!
