The oysters and mussels were delicious, really tasty, a pity we only had the table for 1.5 hours so we couldn't keep them coming πŸ˜…. The crab bisque wasn't as flavoursome as the other two courses but it was ok. The atmosphere was cozy and warm.

Big disappointment.Zero quality. To avoid. We ordered a bottle of red wine and it arrived at the table already open and NO option to taste the wine fist.Really?!Is this French style?!I don’t think it is but anyway, We all know that if you order a bottle of water, or wine or whatever else it should always arrive at a table closed. You must open the bottle in front of the customer.Had Wellington beef and it tested of liver.Again, is this French style? It arrived at the table in less than 3 minutes. What an amazing and quick service!Yes, of course, from the microwave to customers.Desert was cold when it should have been warm. Pear with chocolate cream. My partner and I paid a total of Β£100.We will definitely not go back there and we strongly recommend you to avoid this place.

Classic French bistro with two little outdoor tables and a great selection of French classics.

One of the best meals we've had in Whitstable. This little place is full of charm, the simplicity of a French bistro and uncomplicated dishes packed with flavour. This is not fancy food for fancy sake, this is beautifully crafted, wholesome dishes, with attention to taste. We ordered two starters (mussels & scallops), bread, olives and the beef wellington to share between two of us and it was plenty along with the sticky toffee pudding for dessert. The wine was fantastic, and reasonably priced, but we did find the selection of spirits available to be somewhat basic and lacking the curated attention that could have complimented the overall experience better. Regardless, I will be back time and time again.

A wonderful independent restaurant in the centre of Whitstable.I would recommend booking a table as they only have seven tables and they were all used on a Thursday night in January.I had the Beef Wellington and the Creme Brulee. Both were very nice and the service was friendly and professional.I couldn't recommend this gem of a place more highly.

The service was warm and the setting was relaxed. We took advantage of the reasonably priced set menu. Whilst the food was not overly amazing, it was well cooked and presented - if I had to describe it I would call it comfort food.

The global pandemic has meant no more visits to France for us and therefore, no more lovely French seafood restaurants. Never mind, Birdies to the rescue! This is a lovely place serving fresh local seafood and it's done beautifully. The staff are all friendly, knowledgeable and polite and the food was simply perfect. Whistable's a 2 hour slog for us but Birdies makes that effort really worthwhile. We'll definitely be going back.
