CJ's in Canterbury

Went in yesterday afternoon to get out of the cold and rain. Walked in and the place was immediately lovely and warm with a nice festive vibe. Staff were helpful and polite. Ended up having a really tasty Christmas baguette with roast pork. I've never managed to find anything like this before and was very satisfied. The flapjack was also gorgeous. My wife and daughter both enjoyed their food also. Thought this was well priced and very good food overall. Have recommended it to my friends living in Canterbury and wish there was one closer to home in Sidcup.

Nice... But a bit pricey!

I took 2 friends visiting the town in here with promises of lovely food. It was after the lunch rush. Lots of staff behind the till with one member of staff serving extra slowly. We got ignored for ages until my friend stopped a staff member walking passed and asked if she would serve us. We ordered 3 baguettes but they didn't have the fillings so we changed our order to 3 vegetarian bagels and they didn't have the fillings for those either. So we left. Bit rubbish experience really

Used to be great but has gone somewhat downhill recently, on my last visit the food was average at best and the server didn't even bother to bring a spoon or sugar with the coffee.Edit (following reply from the owner) - Thank you for your response - it's very reassuring to see that the owner is mindful of customer opinions. I appreciate that when I came in it was 45 minutes until closing and I attribute some of the shortcomings (such as the reduced selection) to that fact. Staff have always been helpful and friendly here in the past and I hope that they will continue to be so on future visits.
