Golden Kitchen in Canterbury

Takeaway order placed online, and prepared in just over half an hour. Did not rate this takeaway as highly as our usual - S&S chicken balls were not crisp, but were rather soggy. Probably will not use again.

When ordered, was told it would take an hour to arrive, when it arrived, the sweet and sour sauce wasn't nice at all, the chicken was chewy, wasnt good... Had my friend get food poisoning from RICE!!! EGG FRIED RICE!!! I didnt have any luckily... DO NOT GO HERE

Ordered chicken and cashews in yellow bean sauce, in any other Chinese takeaway this would be way different. Had no cashews and totally spicy and did not listen to our confusion over the phone.

I have been ordering and eating in Golden Kitchen for several years, i must admit that my first time wasn’t good. It was about 5 years ago. Then I ordered from all the Chinese take aways in Canterbury and by a mistake, ordered again in Golden Kitchen! I’m so pleased that i did it. since that every week i have been ordering and eating in and the food never disappoints.. delivery is quick and the food always piping hot. Best Chinese in Canterbury, so far.

Arrived late evening on a Sunday for an overnight stay in Canterbury and this was the only place we found still serving after 9pm. Food was very tasty and portions just right. I'll be kind and not critique their choice of music 🤦

I had to give one star to leave this comment but wouldn’t actually give them one star I’m afraid.The food arrived in a timely manor and was hot.But sorry to say the sweet and sour chicken was not nice, the sauce was extremely vinegar smelling and the balls were so tough we couldn’t bite through them and when opened it was long over cooked batter! The chicken inside fell apart and looked like bits pushed together, rather than nice lumps of chicken. The egg fried rice looked lovely but very surprised to find chips in it and lumps of hard batter!Very disappointed and couldn’t find an email address to ask for a refund??

I was so surprised to see the mixed reviews of Golden Kitchen. We have lived in Canterbury for 4 years now and have had more takeaways than I can remember (as bad as that sounds!). Food has always been delivered piping hot and fresh, and always delicious. After trying others beforehand, this is definitely the best in Canterbury - our go to Chinese takeaway!

Lovely staff, Delicious range of food, I highly recommend the Hong Kong style Sweet and Sour Chicken with Egg Fried Rice, when you order from home it arrives very quickly and still warm, Overall excellent :)
