It is my favourite place in Canterbury. Great service and excellent food. It is a popular restaurant so better book in advance.

Since yo sushi closed, finding a place in Canterbury to get well made sushi became a mission, the happy samurai takes their food to a whole new level offering not just exquisite sushi but a wide range of tasty, beautifully presented jampanese dishes. The prices are affordable and the food is delightful! Would highly reccomend!

Owner was exceptionally busy due to being short staffed, which was very clearly explained on entering. Didn't put us off as been meaning to come here for a while. Ordered and waited patiently for our food, free access to WiFi during the wait was handy. Starters came hot & fresh, yakitori & karaage of exceptional quality - full of flavour and the karaage coating was beautifully crisp! Tonkotsu ramen had a great depth of flavour and absolutely hit the spot. Can't wait to come back!

Popped in for lunch for a friend, has a very welcoming atmosphere just like a proper izakaya. Staff gave us the choice of normal seating or traditional seating, if we wanted the full experience. We ordered one of the platters to share which had a bit of everything on it. Their takoyaki & karaage is especially lovely now!I advise if possible come early or late as it can be quite busy due to its popularity.

Came back after being away in Korea, because nothing beats the amazing Ramen served here!! It's incomparable to others I've had! We ordered the tartan, tonkotsu with char sui pork, spicy karaage chicken, age tofu and the sake +avo making rolls

Me and my husband came on lunch time. Thankfully, we came earlier than expected because tables fill up just minutes after we came. The food was great! We ordered katsu curry, gyoza, tonkatsu, and rice. We'll definitely come back again!

It was ok. Food didnt taste like a genuine japanese place. The place i felt could have done with a refurb, normally if its alittle grotty the food can taste nice but I was slightly dissapointed. I had the noodles, which they put some sauce over it, they were generous with the seafood. Ramen was ok.It just wasnt hitting it for me.Service was nice and attentive. Best part for me was the ice cold beer.

Amazing sushi so fresh and of broad variety. I haven't had so good sushi in ages. Worth a visit when in Canterbury.

Very lovely quaint little restaurant with delicious food and even a more traditional seating area if you are tired of sitting in chairs. Bought some souviner chopsticks which are lovely. Only sad part is the distance which I need to travel to eat here. Will visit again if I come to Canterbury
