Great service. I was visiting Canterbury with my 75 year old Mother, we checked into our hotel on the high street on Sunday evening and needed to eat dinner. We happened upon this lovely friendly little cafe and were delighted with the service - they cooked us omelettes even though I think they were near to closing time. The cafe was very clean and well tended. The food was simple, honest and tasty. We hadn't looked at a menu - just asked for omelettes because they were written in the board outside so the final bill was a very pleasant surprise. All together a lucky find, thank you. (I've had to hunt hard online to find this entry just so I could write a review because we were so impressed). Highly recommended service..

Terrible service, rude, ignored request for a single scoop in a cup - didn't even pause as we asked for such - because the cups are apparently for doubles only, and having a single in one would 'look silly'. Completely overpriced. Never go here.

Great service. For ice cream, it is EXPENSIVE, but again, exceptional quality. I got the Full Banana Split:Vanilla ice cream with raspberry coulis, banana and whipped cream. My follow travelers got a Coppa CioccolataI Calda (Vanilla, caramel and chocolate ice cream with whipped cream and a jug of hot-fudge sauce) and the Banoffee Basket (Vanilla, caramel and banana ice cream with caramel sauce, fresh banana and whipped cream served in a freshly baked sugar-wafer basket) ... from the bites they offered me, I seriously contemplated stealing their desserts. Extraordinary service!!

Could not be more disappointed in this place.Asked if there was a menu - was told "no look on the board". Asked for children's menu to which the woman serving said they could do so ordered a child's burger on it own and 2 chicken nuggets and chips. Price came to around ÂŁ25 and had to pay up front. Was told by the lady serving that she didn't like the old ÂŁ20 note that we paid with and said "don't you have any newer ÂŁ10 notes to pay with? "Half an hour later the food arrived which was underwhelming to say the least. No burger arrived however, and when asked the woman told me I hadn't ordered a burger! We asked for the receipt as proof which she declined to provide. When we left there was no appreciation for our custom or acknowledgement that we were leaving which was odd seeing as we were the only people eating in there the whole time we were in (should have heeded that warning!)So we ended up paying ÂŁ25 for a couple of chips and 8 nuggets and an old lettuce leaf, no drinks (ÂŁ3 a can!) and the worse the customer service I have ever experienced. Initially decided to go there to support local business but BELIEVE the other low reviews as it really is that bad! Also, observe the managers automated responses over 3 years - clearly they do not take feedback seriously.

Overpriced and unhygienic. ÂŁ3 for a drink, you can get one at the shop two doors down for half the price. They weren't wearing masks, and invited is straight in despite the fact we weren't wearing masks (we were getting them out of our bags to put on). I didn't see the lady handling the ice cream use hand sanitizer or gloves, it was ÂŁ2.50 for a very small scoop. They wouldn't let us pay by card, we had to pay by cash and were quite rude overall.

Totally disappointed. Should have spotted an issue when the staff were overheard as to whether ice needed to go in the iced coffee! My son’s banana milkshake was topped with lemon curd sauce with no warning. Party ice cream tasted of bubblegum. Daughter said toffee ice cream tasted like banana. I always try to support local over chain so gutted it was a poor experience.

Hi folks at Maria's,I am forwarding a picture that I took at your premises in October, 1986. It's been a long time, but it's good to see you're still in business. I will maybe visit you in the Spring of 2021.Best of luck,Jos Bruls, the Netherlands
