Penny Theatre in Canterbury

Went for the boxing - Fury vs Whyte - and unfortunately they were understaffed and the manager was very stressed. Toilets in a bad state and our tables were not cleaned before we sat down. But when it's not crazy busy I always enjoy going and the food is decent.

Great pub. Decent screens for sports. we went there for a brunch and the food, staff and cocktails were brilliant for the price. Will definitely go there again

Came to this pub with family not from the area but what a wonderful pub. Sid and Hannah were amazing. Hannah's first day and she did really well. Sid went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. If management read this i hope they will get positive feedback. Very friendly pub food was amazing at reasonable prices. Make sure you pay this pub a visit if you are in Canterbury

Saturday 19/02/22Been here many many occasions and it's always been a good pub with good food, one of my favorites, we actually came here for a 30th birthday drinks/lunch. through my recommendation, however on this occasion it seems something has changed post lockdown. it's disappointing.Service and staff were really good and speedy, wide selection of drinks, however the food has taken a dive. All 8 of us had different dishes and there was something to complain about, the Chicken in particular was a very bad quality. 50/50 fat/gristle- chicken ratio, most of us left or picked the chicken out.It felt like they was trying to cover as many tables as possible and have a super fast turn around which was apparent with the 90 min table reservation limit.Overall a good pub but it's food which used to be amazing is now on sub standard on par with a wetherspoons nothing amazing. Feels a gap, won't rush back for food.

Me and my fiancé had the bottomless brunch here on the 12th of February. The service was amazing, probably the best we have ever had, the girl who served us was called Leah, she was so polite and her service was exceptional. She is an asset to your company, we will definitely be coming here again. Great chilled but fun place to eat and drink as a couple and Is also a great place to come with friends too.

Great atmosphere, staff are funny but don't hide their dismay at working there. Drinks and food are okay, good variety but nothing special. Service is always slow even when it's quiet.

Have been before and will be going again, great food and drinks although some were not available that day but didn't stop us having a great time, service was good and the staff were friendly.

Don't go here often but when meeting colleagues it tends to be a good call and often a good night out. There is a nice variety of drinks (including alcohol free choices), ladies toilets are upstairs which is a bit cumbersome after a few too many. Sectioned seating areas too for a more secluded evening.

We visited on 13.11.21 for a hen do with 16 of us. the Food was lovely and the staff looked after us very well, especially Louie who was a star. I'd highly recommend the Penny Theatre and say hi to Louie from us. 😁
