Visited the Royal Navel Reserve on a trip to Whitstable with friends. An excellent traditional pub with a friendly welcome, well kept ale and great food. The freshly cooked steak and mushroom pie with mash went well with a pint of Whitstable Bay. We returned later in the day for another pint relaxing in the courtyard garden area at the rear of the pub.

Brilliant pub... friendly, helpful and chatty manager with great selection of beers and wines. Thanks for giving us a pleasant end to an evening out in Whitstable.

The best roast in a long time. The brownie is to die for. Such a friendly and welcoming pub. The staff are amazing. Nothing is too much trouble. Would highly recommend.

Visited this evening with a group of five with no prior booking & I must say what a gorgeous little pub hidden in plain sight a stones throw from the sea front on the high street. Staff were helpful and very accomodating and friendly with a nice selection of local beers.Lovely and clean and cute little garden/outdoor area just through behind the pub.We all ordered food & although the burger was delicious I regretted my decision after seeing a fish and chips delivered to a nearby table as it looked amazing! Great pub!

Excellent pub with very friendly, attentive staff. It looks very small from the outside but is like the TARDIS when you go in with lots of different areas to sit, including the public bar, restaurant area and outside space (both under cover and fully outside. The pub is very clean and the toilets are well looked after. The food was the usual pub fair, well done and presented and generous portions. Not sure that you can get a wheelchair through the front door but there is access from the rear, to garden only. Highly recommended.

The fish and chips is really delicious! Especially the fish is very crispy and juicy. I like the sauce very much, not too much mayonnaise but very tasty. Lots of fries which can definitely be enough for a proper lunch.

Loved it. Such a nice Sunday lunch. We made a reservation on the Saturday and they called to confirm before we arrived on the Sunday. Very lovely staff and waitress couldn't do enough for you. Would recommend

Lovely traditional Whitstable people pub with friendly staff, good food and a garden. Shepherd and Neames beer. Enjoy the traditional atmosphere.

Fantastic pub-restaurant one of Whitstable’s Pearls. Adults only and pet free. Don’t be put off by this though as it has a lovely, calm atmosphere and friendly, caring staff. Good range of drinks - traditional favourites as well as local and the more obscure. Food is excellent - generous portions and absolutely delicious! A good range of mains and ‘light bites’ to suit all tastebuds. Traditional grub as well as the more exotic. Health and safety aware and very clean.
