Saint Smokeys Bbq House in Canterbury

My girlfriend made me drive all the way back to Canterbury on Saturday to go here as it was too busy the week before.Food is really really nice and same goes for the people that work here. All seem happy and friendly and very attentive.Bit off putting with all the local kids standing in a group behind you swearing and watching videos on there phones. Could do with bigger seating area but that's a small issue.Empty premises over the road that night be bigger.Anyway. Great place

Simply the best chicken anywhere. For my job I travel all over the country and this is the very best for chicken. Yes you have to wait but the wait is so worth it,!

Best damn place in Canterbury! If you ain't tried it you ain't lived. I'll be back very soon for more of the best chicken in Kent and my god the rice and pea...🤤

Good bbq chicken. Loved the Mac and cheese. Only problem that it’s so small place and don’t have many spaces for sit in.

Probably the best chicken I’ve had in my life! That sauce was just brilliant, the staff was really practical once its a really small place and they have people eating in and also do take away. The prices vary between 5-12 pounds and the portions are enough to fill in a really hungry person! They’ll also let you choose between rice/chips and salad/corn as sides for your chicken and let me tell you that the corn was the best I’ve had in a long time, beats nandos in a blink.

Chicken was okay, standard. A bit dry. The other people in our group ordered the same but received almost half of what I got. We got our food in about 40 minutes for 5 people total from the time we ordered. They also were not busy at the time so might consider somewhere else for groups for more than 2. It is service at the counter and you sit after you order. It's basically just chicken, you can order a burger on the menu.

The Lunch Special (around £6-£7) is definitely worth it!You get a 1/4 of BBQ chicken, which is super tasty2 side dishes (I had salad and fries obviously)And 1 drink (soda or water)Have to say that the BBQ chicken is super delicious. Will come to this place again even if it’s not for the lunch special! The price is not that crazy.The downside is, it’s not really place to hang out with many people (unless if you want to sit outside); plus sometimes the order can take so long (or so I was told).

My second time at Saint, I can't say enough how good this chicken is. It reminds me of chicken bbqed in half a drum back home in Trinidad. Staff were lovely as well. Also they serve food in recyclable packaging.

Stopped in here as the lunchtime special caught our eye, the food is so delicious and you get plenty along with a drink, even a choice of BBQ sauces that the chicken is cooked in. We'll definitely be going back to order off the main menu next time. The staff are super friendly too and the atmosphere really relaxed. Give it a try if you enjoy fresh, proper food served with love. (There's also a loo here and outside seating, allow about 15-20 to have your food served, as its all fresh)

Chicken is cooked well and the bbq sauce is very flavoursome. It's good value for money at £6.50 for the lunch time special. But after reading some of the reviews before hand I did leave here feeling a little underwhelmed. It's good that it's all cooked fresh but not sure if it's worth the wait 20+ minute wait...
