Samphire in Canterbury

Must be the best Bistro locally.Brill evening for my partners birthday.Every dish excellent recommend the Rocking Rock Oysters, Skate Wing and Pork Belly. Cheerful staff efficient staff make for a relaxing evening. Bill very reasonable for such high quality.

Lovely lunch here yesterday. Nicely cooked fresh local food and a pleasant unrushed atmosphere although the tables are a little too close together for my liking. The staff do tend to drop stuff quite often too 😲😉

Good food presentation and cozy little cafe, a little bit pricey but service was great. Just bare in mind to ask how long is the food waiting time last time we waited almost 1 hr for food.

Fantastic food and service! They were very keen to accommodate our gluten-free needs, food was delicious and plenty of it. Wonderful place.

Picked Samphire as a bit of a late choice but what a great one. The food was excellent, well cooked and delicious (smoked cockles are a revelation). The service was really good - attentive but not too much so. Thourghly recommended.

Whilst we were still in Whitstable we booked into Samphire for New Year’s Day dinner! We had been before and had high expectations of how good the food and service would be, expectations that were easily surpassed! 👏🏻Our experience (along with Wheelers) just hammers home what an absolute little gem Whitstable is for dining!!The Rock Oysters were as fresh as you could ask for, and have still left me wanting more some days later…everything we tried on the menu had our whole table smiling from ear to ear!!The cocktails and wine on offer were of a great quality too (killer Espresso Martini’s) and the staff are both attentive and seem to really care that you enjoy your time and the food with them!! Which seems simple but isn’t always apparent when dining out!It’s a beautiful little establishment is Samphire, very easy on the eye both inside and out.. great for a date, impressing friends and family or for a special occasion! It’s somewhere that we will definitely make the effort to go back to later this year… maybe when the sun has poked it’s head out again!! 😂 🌞Our fave things: The whole look and feel of the place, so tasteful… and the menu as a whole, it took us so long to order, everything sounded too good!!📍🚇| 10/15 minute walk from Whitstable Train Station.

Samphire is a lovely little restaurant, which I had walked by many a time looking at the menu blackboards and busy inside. I'm so glad I finally gave it a try. I had a really good lunch here today. The pork belly (my main) was outstanding, so soft, tender and flavoursome with amazing crackling too. Nice wine list, great food and brilliant service from happy smiling staff.

I have to say that Samphire is one of best places I have ever eaten.This small but very humble restaurant should not only be praised for its amazing cooking but also its warm and friendly hospitality.With a menu that is rustic yet inspired by local dishes and British cuisine, its presentation and execution of each plate was fantastic, and perfectly balanced in every aspect.My pork belly was rich in flavours, and very lean with a crackling topper that was delicious in its own merits. The chef should be complimented on their skills.Highly recommended to anyone that loves food. Worth the travel to Whitstable and booking way in advance of our Sunday visit.
