We decided to stop here for lunch today as the outside terrace looked inviting. The waiter was polite and gave us a choice of tables. We ordered 2 haddock & chips, a small bottle of prosecco and a beer. The prosecco arrived in a glass without the bottle which we queried and were given the excuse that they had an opened large bottle which they didn't want to go flat. As they only sell by either the bottle or small bottle we either had somebody's leftovers or they do this as a habit to make extra money. My wife didn't want to make a scene and was ok with the glass so I let it be. The meal arrived which looked pretty good but when we cut into the fish it was very wet and upon closer inspection was cod, not haddock. We complained at the end of the meal and were given no reason for the wrong fish other than chefs error. We did get a reduction on the bill but overall this ruined my birthday lunch.

We had lunch here yesterday. It's pricey for what you get. The fish was cooked fresh, but the chips were dried out. However, the rating is based on the calamari rings we ordered . They were disgusting! They were a plate of dough rings in batter !! No squid or taste of seafood. I complained, but my wife didn't want to make a fuss. There are better places to eat nearby, so we'll not be going back!

I would not recommend this place, portions are a joke and the prices are disgusting. I ordered 1 cod, 1 battered sausage, 2 kids sausage and chips and 1 large chips along with a small can of coke, 2 ketups and a curry sauce and was charged ÂŁ27.50. I wouldnt mind if the food was tasty which it wasn't. Chips weren't cooked propley and were hard and the portion was more like a small child's. My kids meal had more than my large chips and they forgot my sauces. Stay away as there are a lot better places to eat other than this joke of a chip shop.

Service was excellent on a very busy midday Sunday. Staff attentive and knowledgeable. One star off as portion of whitebait very small and chips again not many were pale and still undercooked as mentioned by other reviews. Seems as though they were rushing the cooking to keep up with demand.

I appreciate it’s my opinion, but I felt the chips were undercooked, crunchy and pale. They have been reviewed by others for this failing before. At first the cod looked okay, but upon cutting it open, it was full of slimy, scaly skin, which was really off putting. Why they can’t be bothered to remove this, is beyond me. I didn’t eat any of it.The bread and “butter” is also not butter, it’s clearly a synthetic, cheap margarine / spread.Absolutely no way was this worth £50 for two fish and chips and a couple of drinks. Won’t be back.

Food was way over priced and not great. We ordered fish and chips and pie and chips and asked the waitress for extra crispy chips and she agreed to this before we placed the order. When the chips arrived they were soggy. When we asked the waitress if she could make them more crispy she said they were too busy. Why did she promise this in the first place? As well the pie was heated up in a microwave and was very sub standard especially when they charge ÂŁ8.45 for a pie?? The pieces of fish are very small and so are the serving sizes of chips for the p[rice of ÂŁ12.50 for both. There are far better value places nearby. Will notbe going back!

Rather disappointed in the lack of training for the staff. I visited on Saturday, we was really looking forward to our food, but we were served by 2 young ladies who obviously had no food hygiene training whatsoever, one was standing in front of the fryer scratching her head, playing with her hair and flicking her hair everywhere, the other girl was standing biting her nails and playing with her ponytail and the pair just standing around gossiping. Such a shame as the food smelt amazing and just what we all wanted after a long day. If I ever return I'll make sure I'm served by someone that has hygiene as a main priority especially with covid around.

Visited last week, with a party of 5 for a takeaway and was highly delighted with the quality and quantity of food and we thought it was fairly priced. Visited again today, and dined in but sadly this fell well below our expectations. Today there were only the two of us, my food was acceptable, nothing spectacular but fine, but unfortunately my husband's meal was half - and I literally mean that - half the size of what we'd received the previous occasion. We mentioned it to the staff, who offered no other explanation than it being a different chef!!!!We settled the bill, but were somewhat shocked to see that we were being charged ÂŁ3 less for 2 than what we paid last week for 5 people. Obviously, we appreciate that dining in carries overheads that increase the price but this was really over-inflated. I've read responses to other reviews about over pricing here, which are met with a response that the location justifies this. Because this restaurant is so well placed in Herne Bay, I'm sure there will be people who are happy to pay through the nose, for underwhelming food, but we will be taking our custom elsewhere

Food was awful. Pretty crazy that a fish and chip shop doesn't know how to cook chips. You'd think that would be the one thing they would excel in! Chips came out white and soggy and needed a good several more minutes in the fryer. Burger was the type you get from a fun fair burger van but triple the cost. Salad was a joke too, a couple of carvings off of a lettuce leaf and quarter of a tomato. I don't like to leave negative reviews but it was the complete lack of effort that annoyed me about this place. One to avoid!

Pleasant location right next to the beach, comfortable chairs and spacious tables. Attentive, good service.Food was average , warm diet coke and no ice, undercooked chips and over battered food. Reasonable value for money at about ÂŁ10 per head for one course and a soft drink.Hard to recommend except that they did cook me a fillet of cod without the batter.
