The food was absolutely delicious and the staff were so pleasant, it was very reasonably priced too. Well worth a visit.

Never dined in here but did Take Out - this is close to as good as it gets. Food was fresh, hot, ready on time for pick up, tasty and didn’t disappoint. Loved the simple yellow dhal and rice - but everything we ordered tasted good.

Highly recommend this restaurant…. Divine!! I didn’t even get a picture of the food, just our empty plates. Very clean, busy, friendly, hardworking and happy to please. You deserve this recommendation

Entrance is small and location is bit awkward, too if that there is no parking arrangement. Looks and interior is old, it wasn’t my taste, could be character for someone.Very very very oriented INDIAN food. I love the food. Staff was excellent. Customer service was one of the best in the town. It was great evening for my family and I. We had good time.I would recommend to everyone. 👍

What has happened to this once great indian. Saturday evening meal at the restaurant, rice tasted and smelt like a cheap microwave packet rice, naan bread exactly the same as a supermarket naan, currys worse than a jar curry and chicken very dry. A very disappointing meal and the manager didn't really seem to bothered. They didn't charge us for the food but very disappointed and a waste of time.

Always a great experience going to The Ancient Raj. Whether you're ordering takeaway or dining in, the staff are always extremely friendly and the food is extremely tasty. Best Indian in Canterbury by far, would highly recommend to anyone.

I booked a table for 8pm Name Charilaou on 31st December 2021. First thing we were waiting for around 40 mins for our order to be taken, when our food arrived it was barely warm and had to be sent back to the kitchen to be re-heated. Eventually after a while our re-heated food was brought to our table, my Chicken Madras Curry was mild in taste and i was very disappointed, along with my wife and Family. Apologies were given for the waiting time but we still had to pay full price without any gesture of a slight reduction. The food is obviously FROZEN and had lost taste because of this. Its a shame because my wife and i had been Attracted to the building which was nicely decorated with Christmas Lights from the outside. I would not recommend the Ancient Raj and suggest looking elsewhere for an Indian Meal, Avoid this place.

Have been here a number of times with friends and family and staff have always bent over backwards to fit us in even late at night and last minute. Tonight ordered a takeaway for collection and had an issue with it, called and the customer service was great. A new order was cooked and delivered to the door. Very impressed couldn’t ask for more.
