The staff here were absolutely lovely. This pub is in the traditional style with beautiful furnishings, exposed beams and is warm and cosy. I had a lovely drink and meal here with my friend (who forgot to pay!) and the staff were mega friendly and understanding, talking to us politely when my friend realised his mistake.I can't wait to come back to the Artichoke to see everyone again.

Best pub in the village by a long way. Great atmosphere & great staff. Nice food and good selection of beers.

Have only been twice since it has been under new management. Meal was very enjoyable but unfortunately on both occasions we had to wait 45 mins for first course , even tho we had pre booked the table.

Popped in with a friend having a rough day on her 18th to grab a drink. Staff gave her a small slice of brownie for her birthday as a kind gesture with HBD in caramel sauce. It cheered her up so much. Thank you so much to the lady who organised it, you're such a sweetie

The Sunday roast we had was lovely as usual with a good helping of meat. The potatoes were best I have had out, and the food portion was great.Unfortunately, my review holds back on 2 more stars as the £5.95 lemon cheesecake portion was outrageously small, a slither at best and either needs to be sold at say £3.95 if kept at that size or a much bigger slice for nearly £6.A real shame end to a lovely meal.

Well presented pub. Very friendly staff and locals. Amazing Sunday roasts with extremely generous portion sizes. Will definitely return when possible.

Lovely Saturday to walk from the city out along the river to the Artichoke for a well deserved freshly cooked hot lunch in the warm! - most convivial!

All three of us had a really nice main course followed by a delicious sweet. Service was good and both waitresses were attentive to our needs without laying it on too thick. Will definitely return as we don't live far from Chartham. Definitely recommended.

Under new management and now with a friendly face at the helm!. Great to see a live folk band Friday night. A welcome return of live music. Very well kept Shepherd Neame’s Masterbrew. It is fabulous to have a traditional pub, with local ale and a warm Kentish welcome extended by Holly and her team.

Friendly staff, good beer and a great refuelling lunch for the family at the midway point of our bike ride.
