Had Sunday lunch today, absolutely lovely. Staff very attentive , food came out hot and tasty. Apple and plum crumble for pud was fantastic, sticky toffee pudding even better!!Need 2 spoons per bowl so you can share. ( Big portions )Don't tell too many people about this little diamond, you might not be able to get a table next time.Thank you all at the Black Robin.😊

Unfriendly welcome, flat beer, obviously left in pipes from night before. My reservations about the place were made a whole lot worse when a woman entered asking the bar maid if there was an easier entrance for a wheelchair having already booked, the response given “yes, round the side”. Again, no warm welcome and worst of all, no effort to show the accessible entrance, let alone help. The supposedly easy access was far from it. No ramp to get over the step and again absolutely no help from the staff. My partner helped to lift the wheelchair over the step. So shocked we left, not even finishing the rubbish beer, forgetting lunch completely and returning to the lovely Duke of Cumberland which is just down the road..

Amongst the best village gastro pubs I've been to and great selection of wines, beers, gins etc. Great friendly welcoming service as well.

We had Sunday lunch here with friends. The food was delicious , atmosphere relaxing and the staff very attentive without being over zealous. The food arrived promptly and hot. I would recommend a meal here anytime and would make any special occasion just that bit extra special. Book early to avoid disappointment.

I was quite disappointed with our visit to the Black Robin. I arrived with my family after a walk from Adisham. In fairness, we had not booked a table. We were met with quite cold service. Even though we arrived at 12.45 and tables were available until 14.00, the service refused to sit us. They also said there would not be enough food to feed us. Despite pointing out we would happily sit at a table, eat AND vacate before 2pm, we were left to find food elsewhere. This is in contrast to my son’s previous visit (August 2020) where he received excellent service. I think the staff need to be trained in making reasonable concessions (we could have been sat at a table until 13.45, we weren’t told about table availability for the rest of the day, we weren’t offered to even buy a drink).Sadly I cannot comment on the decor or food as we didn’t make it past the front bar.

Nice country pub with good food. Tried the special of the day which was a pie

Recently held our grandmothers wake here and it could have not been nicer. The food was delicious and the space they created for us made such a sad day so nice.

10/10. Best pub lunch we have had in the Canterbury area for a while. Tucked in the corner, at the start of the Kent Downs it’s such a cosy but elegant setting, staff were prompt and food & drinks came quickly. Extremely good value. We came with our 4yo and 8mth baby and felt very welcomed. Can’t fault a thing!

Just got back home after an amazing Sunday Roast at this homely pub located in the beautiful village of Kingston on the edge of the Elham Valley. Amazingly breathtaking scenery !The food was deliciously delightful! We had pork loin, cracking, black pudding, cabbage, cauli cheese, honey roast parsnips, carrots and roast potatoes 😋 very generous potions ! 👍 The home made ice cream was super duper too. We tried the peanut butter, double chocolate and honeycomb flavours. The young girls serving us were lovely, so pleasant and helpful. The inside of the pub is v cosy and nicely decorated however, the garden and the patio area can do with a bit of TLC.Thank you to the staff of the black Robin for an excellent afternoon & Sunday Roast.🌹We will be visiting you soon to enjoy your yummy Burgers too!😊

This little place is a gem!Off the beaten track a little but we'll worth a visit. We booked a Sunday lunch and were reserved a table in a comfortable position. The dinner we chose was roast beef and came with roast potatoes, Yorkshire, broccoli, carrots, cauli cheese, cabbage and was delicious. We didn't have to wait long either which was good as we were famished. We also had deserts, again, very good indeed and I can personally recommend the salted caramel chocolate pot.The staff were polite and attentive and answered all our questions as 2 of us have special dietary requirements.Excellent service, prices very reasonable and we will certainly go back.Thank you once again Black Robin team
