The Golden Lion in Canterbury

One of my favourite local pubs, few left near me now to be honest that are worth venturing into, and what i call popper pubs. Landlords Amanda and Colin are very friendly and always make time to have a chat when you pop in. The pub provides good food at decent prices, Shepard neame on tap and bottle. Well behaved dogs are welcome bar side and in the garden on leash. Nice garden to the rear with outsdide dining on the warmer days. Clean and tidy inside and out. the pub has a good community spirit about it and provides many events for the locals and older folk. Colin puts much time and effort into his bat and trap green and it shows, darts teams visit regularly also. One of the nicer pubs where the unruly on a Friday night dont tend to venture, nice to have a drink in a calm and relaxed environment. Sometimes we have a game night up here and they do not mind reserving a big table off for dice games. Very nice walks nearby that lead to blean woods its worth parking nearby and heading out to explore the surroundings before returning for a meal at the pub.

Fabulous meal for four of us this Saturday evening,was a outstanding meal and was cooked to perfection. Generous portions and the chips were to die for ! Crispy homemade and tasty ! Competitive pricing ! Fantastic service by the staff,very attentive and nothing was too trouble !! come on ppl this place and food is amaz-ballls you won't be disappointed 😋

Fabulous meal for my birthday. Food was cooked to perfection and generous portions. Wait staff were attentive and picked up on flyaway comment about my birthday and popped a candle in my dessert and sung me Happy birthday.

We have been to The Golden Lion a few times now and we have never been disappointed.The food is delicious and the service is great.We were served last night by Bonnie who helped make our night, nothing was any trouble for her and she was delightful.We shall be going back again and again.
