Lovely traditional pub (the oldest one in the city to be more accurate). Feels very homely and I always feel very safe there. The owner goes out of his way to be friendly and lots of things happening, from the free to enter weekly pub quiz, (currently on Wednesdays) to darts, open mic and board game nights. Often quiet as it gets overlooked due to being slightly out of the centre, but worth the 5 min walk. Excellent food and all at reasonable prices.

Amazing pub, with a very welcoming atmosphere.Having visited several times, I have been able to sample a selection of the food from the kitchen and am always impressed with the quality and value for money.Mark the landlord is friendly and welcoming. If you get a chance do pop into the kings head for a drink, chat and some good food, you won't be disappointed.

Welcoming place, cool staff and decent management. Food is top. Can't say better than that.

Lovely traditional pub serving a good selection of cask ales. Very friendly staff, especially Helen, who served us up a fantastic Sunday roast. As it's my local now, I can comfortably recommend this particular pub to anyone who happens to be in the area and to try out the food as it's the best I've tried in and around Canterbury. The only concern I have is their website as it needs updating regards opening times as it's closed Monday and Tuesday and will open up on Wednesdays as from March.

Generic pub, very local feeling but were friendly. Needs to make more of being' the oldest pub' in Canterbury.

·

Very nice place with some decent times but definitely need to go with a group and be prepared for a high charge on drinks, the company you bring determines the fun you'll have

Bar billiards and such a lovely welcome. 😍

Really lovely pub to go to. Friendly staff. Out door garden. I would definitely recommend.

Nice, relaxed, clean, and light. Toilets could do with a spruce, but otherwise friendly and welcoming.
