"The Monument is a traditional pub serving high quality ales, beers, wines and spirits. This independent pub has a beautiful and large beer garden bursting with colourful plants. The cosy interior includes open fire places, comfy seating areas and a wide selection of books and magazines to keep you occupied over a quiet drink. The pubs new food menu launched in March 2022 and offers a small menu of creative home cooked food, with an emphasis on high quality ingredients."

The Monument has been reimagined as a beautifully presented venue that's comfortable and stylish as well as being a great place to enjoy well conceived meals accompanied by good beers, wine and spirits. Highly recommended and somewhere I'll be returning to.

Really good place to have a drink a catch up with friends. Loved their wines on offer and landlord is very friendly. Would really recommend coming here and really pleased this one of our local pubs.

A fantasticly stylish place which retains the pub like feel. A great selection of ales, really love the Hofmeister Weiss beer. Great food, starters were excellent, the chilli is the tastes I have ever had (the mains did not last long enough to have a picture taken). A must visit Canterbury pub.

We went to the Monument for lunch today and loved it. As a coeliac, I could eat most things on the menu and the allergens menu on the back was really clear. I felt really confident to eat here. The food was great - I had falafel to start and veggie tagine with rice for my main. Both were delicious! The drinks options are fab and there was even had gluten free beer.My partner had the lamb burger and loved it. He loved that the the dishes are homemade, produce is local and has great flavour. We'll definitely be back :)

Great scenery, friendly staff. Food was so good, it would be a crime not to go for a second serving.Only regret is not having enough space for a third serving.

It is our local but people of all ages and walks of life come here. Sam and his great team are extremely friendly and have created a warm and cosy atmosphere since Sam took over ownership of this lovely pub. Serving exceptionally good wines and beer. We are excited at the idea of food being provided in the next few weeks. There is a pub quiz on Mondays and piano playing on Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoon. Just feel so lucky to have this great place on our doorstep. If you are in Canterbury and are visiting the historic St Dunstanās church (where Henry II changed into a hair shirt for his walk of penance following the murder of Thomas Beckett) glance across the road and you will see The Monument public house. Venture inside and you will be greeted by very friendly staff whose friendliness is matched only by the quality of the vegetarian food which is prepared and served there. An added bonus are the views of St Dunstanās from the courtyard and garden. A hidden gem waiting to be discovered. Rob & Julie

Great real ale and other drinks. Eclectic, relaxed pub setting with the option to buy the very good books scattered around on shelves. Helpful staff. Haven't tried the food yet, but when I do, it might go up to five star.

What can I say, amazing food, lovely sized portions in a Vegan restaurant for once!!!!!!! First Vegan restaurant that does āpub-foodā right. Service and ambiance were great and the menu (see pictures) was fantastic. They were out of red wine after a festival but that was fine. I will change this rating to a 5 star one when they remove themselves from Gourmet Society after I couldnāt use my card and get 25% off. Apparently this is because of the last owner and they are having trouble coming off the list. Of course they could instead just join GS and that way more people can use the service and make savings!!! OMG the āMonumentalā burger is aptly names and just fantastic š

This is a must-visit for your visit to Canterbury. A short walk from the station just outside the city walls, the variety of vegan junk food is amazing, and every meal we tried impressed. They also do a range of desserts, vegan beers and cocktails, including veganised versions of a White Russian and Bloody Mary. The staff are friendly and helpful and interior is cosy and clean with a great big beer garden outside.
