Nice pub, very friendly staff. Kitchen closes early (8pm) and had in our case several dishes we tried to order not available. The nachos were good, the pies ‘okay’, with a large blob of mash and cooked to tasteless veggies.

This is my new favourite pub in Canterbury. It's location across from the Cathedral, great service, and a solid menu with both Vegan and traditional pub selections is just perfect. It can get quite busy during more touristy parts of the year. It's got a good history and lots of good artwork on the walls provides a great atmosphere.

Lovely old Pub! Nicholsons I believe. Little bar in the front and a bigger seating area and restaurant out the back. We had a pint of Amstel and a Puerto De Indias Strawberry Gin and Lemonade. £10.10. Looked like a nice menu for food but we didn't try any.

Great food and Real Ale plus larger eating/drinking area out back which is as cosy as the front. Link into WiFi and order from phone or direct from bar. Table numbers could be a bit easier to read but a minor complaint. Friendly staff and a great location near the Cathedral.

Haven't been here in many years, good food then and very good food now. Took a while to get our meals to the table but upon reflection it was well worth the wait. All the food looked great and was very tasty. All plates empty. Waitress/barmaid was attentive and ensured we were happy. Good-bye Weatherspoons, you won't be missed.

Nice pub with good food, at iconic location in Canterbury. According the text on the walls the Buttermarket was connected via tunnels to Cathedral (escape route). The pies are great and served with vegetables, and mash.

I ordered, but the portion was TINY compared to how it is in photos. I'm talking a few centimetres of actual pie and no actual crust under it which I paid £8.50 for. Custard was also missing from the pudding. I get the feeling they just couldn't be bothered. What a rip off

Stumbled across this place after a walking tour of the town on a Friday afternoon. Wasn't too busy so they were able to accommodate the 4 of us. Really friendly staff, lovely atmosphere and the food was brilliant! Perfect for a spot of lunch! Ordered some wine and ales too...went down a treat 😏
