Really enjoyed our meal although chips were warm , staff was great although talking in front of customers about a issue with some kitchen appliances is not what I wanted to hear whiles waiting for my food . Drinks where great although my last one the glass was dirty didn't realise until id nearly drunk it all tho .put that aside the atmosphere is good but needs a little update in decor I will return as I believe in second chances ..

An absolute gem . Visiting from outside the area . We came across this hidden gem on our way to Canterbury. Staying in the premiere inn , herne bay and decided to try somewhere different to the restaurant onsite. The menu choices ( burgers, stone bake pizza and carvery ) we’re amazing… the smell of the carvery as we entered had us sold! Chef showed pride in what he was serving, Staff, atmosphere and cleanliness were second to none. Value for money 10/10. Don’t drive passed…. Give them a look in!

bit like Butlins, or reminiscent of queuing-up for school dinners.. However the food was enjoyable. More importantly, I was with my family, who are glorious company . Service and staff are very attentive. God bless staff

What can I say, beautiful pub, staff could not do enough, very welcoming and friendly, Hubby had the fish and chips, he said beautifully cooked, and the fish was lovely. The other three of us had the Sunday carvery, very tasty, beautiful meat, could tell the beef was of good quality, veg and potatoes cooked beautiful and nothing was greasy, and to top it all it was very hot. Thank you for looking after us today, from old school more mature students that can cook.

Nice trip into the countryside, easy parking, nice food and staff and reasonable prices excellent carvery very school dinners but a lot cheaper than a sandwich in town. The only let down is that it could do with a lick of paint it is a pity that so many businesses in lock down did not see fit to use the time wisely.

Seems to have gone very down hill. Haven't been in years but visited today on a Saturday evening and the restaurant wasnt extremely busy for a Saturday night. My family all ordered carvery with some kid meals which we were told that we could have with the carvery. When we approached the chef who was carving, he was very arrogant and rude! His attitude was disgusting. We was told by a waiter that the chips were ready to collect at the carvery and when we asked him he just snapped at us as if we arent even a valued customers. Considering I ordered the works (the largest carvery) I was served with 3 stingy slices from two meats I chose which were also the dry ends which had been previously carved and sat for probably an hour. The items you can help yourself too was all empty, even though clearly looking at the meat no one has been up for a while. 1 kids meal came early and then a kids pizza came 20 minutes later. Through the entire meal all we could smell was the pizza oven burning and smoking away with chefs swearing and banging and scraping stuff out the oven. We then ordered 3 bottomless Sundays and the ice cream machine was empty. We also ordered profiterole Sunday and chocolate buttons in custard which got forgotten. We had to ask 20 minutes later if they were coming and all the staff just seemed confused. It was a terrible experience and I'm not being over criticizing as being an ex chef myself for years providing the same service, there was just no excuse for any of it. Will not be coming back anytime soon.

Went to the Punch Tavern back in October. It wasn't a particularly busy time, my partner and mum ordered the carvery and i ordered off the other lunch menu. We were told my meal would take about 10-15 minutes. I had to wait 40 minutes for my meal to arrive, but that time the other 2 had finished their dinners. We also decided to order some desserts, i ordered the cookie dough. When it arrived to say I was disappointed would be an understatement. I could fit it all on 1 spoon. This cost the same price as the other desserts which were considerably bigger. When I messaged to complain, I was told this would be investigated but still haven't heard anything! Will not be going back there. (photo to show the size difference, both cost ÂŁ5.99!)

What can I say, on arrival I found the staff to be rather unresponsive. We we shown to our table and basically left to get on with it. We ordered our food by the app and our drinks were brought shortly afterwards. We had to ask when we could get our carvery which Angela didn't seem to know we had ordered any food. When we got to the carvery the girl didn't seem to bothered about serving us either, too much trouble we thought, although saying that the roast was very nice and plenty of it.When it came to ordering dessert we decided to go to the bar to order. We were served by Verity who was so nice, helpful and cheerful. We were disappointed by the service we received until the latter but we did enjoy the food.Hopefully we will visit again and feel differently.

Dreadful food, very slow. They had no idea what's gluten free on their menu . I enclose a photo of the wrap that came with my grandson's chicken.. it was like cardboard. They have just read my review and agreed it was awful service and offered me a ÂŁ10 voucher to go again. However we will not be able to do that. The staff brought gluten free chips to one of the party who had informed them that they are very GF intolerant so don't feel safe going again.

Friendly staff,no booking for lunch. Carvery served every day at lunch,we had a choice of beef, gammon or turkey (or a bit of each!) with 3 pigs in blankets as extras. Very hot food! Choice of carrots and sweede, peas, roasties, mash with cabbage, red cabbage, stuffing and cauliflower cheese. Great choice of condiments. Large seating area outside with small play area. Good sized car park. Easy to find. Highly reccomend, and will be going back! Oh,and really Great value!!
