The Royal Oak in Canterbury

Visiting from london with our dog. Really lovely local pub! We sat outside in the sun with our fish and chips and muscles - honestly really delicious and fairly priced!!

Great food - we had mussels and fish & chips - and easy to find. Plenty of parking, nice meadow to look out over and a garden with play equipment and tables for the summer. Convenient spot for short walks into the Blean afterwards!

Food was lovely, had homemade steak, red wine and mushroom pie. Very friendly and attentive staff.

I had a Sunday lunch here today. It was delicious, tasty and a very generous portion of everything. The staff were helpful and very pleasant.My only gripe was the music. Although lovely it was far too loud and it actually stopped us talking, which is what we wanted to do. It needs to be background only. It shouldn’t be a show!

Nice rural pub. Found fame when it started advertising for customers !Have heard rumours about the possibility that it could be developed in the future with quite a few houses going up in the field behind it & maybe the pub being redeveloped.This would be a shame as I liked the place when I visited.Right next to a busy main road - which could be an advantage or a disadvantage depending on your point of view.

Nicely run regular pub meal. Good price , good portion, nice staff. Nicely cooked, may not be the best we ever had but certainly no complaint from us and very happy for return visit.

Sunday dinner with the family together. Excellent food and so much of it and a very nice touch to have a bit of music while dining.

Had their Sunday roast, beef was cooked well but loads of fat and gristle and couldn't believe the miserly amount of veg they put on the table for four people!!! It was pitiful, only just enough for one person, we had to ask for more. Eaten here before and was just fine but after the last experience will not be returning for a long time I think. Avoid...... my best advice

Absolutely Brilliant place, the service was 2nd to none, the food excellent and the entertainment also brilliant, highly highly recommended, I will most definitely be going back again.
