The Sportsman in Canterbury

First time eating here and have to say would go back again any day of the week and possibly twice on a Sunday! The menu is fantastic, so many good options it was hard to choose. Food was absolutely amazing and the staff were lovely and friendly. Really unique place with its own individuality. Great people awesome food what more could you want!

Delicious food with great presentation! Really good service too! We ordered a starter and two mains so I almost didn’t order dessert…in the end I’m glad I did! I will definitely be back in the future

The two course meal was value for money. The food was fresh and tasty. Staff and service were excellent. I highly recommend this place.

We had dinner for 2 here. Soo many Xmas decorations up, made it really festive and fun. Service was friendly but a bit slow and things were missed and forgotten. Food was tasty but very very salty - we each drank 3 pints of water each after dinner there! The chef needs to use much less salt.

Delicious food and friendly service at reasonable prices.Our party of 5 were looking for somewhere for a late lunch.We all had the set menu and all courses were served quickly (as I would hope being the only people in the restaurant at the time) and were beautifully cooked.I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a succulent 3 course meal.

Excellent food and excellent service. Both waitresses worked well as a team. Very pleasant. Service was friendly and prompt without being too quick. Atmosphere great, well positioned to people watch down the high street. Good value for excellent food. Will be going back again.

Evening menu with a great price and excellent food. The sauce in the seabass was spectacular, I missed some bread or even a spoon! Not a big portion so if you normally eat a big quantity, maybe it's better to choose another options.

Context: Wife and I had lunch here in Aug-2021.Pros: Tasty food, friendly and quick service. Good portion. Enjoyed it enough we came close to eating here twice in a two-day visit.Cons: Outside and most of the inside looks like a restrained, refined restaurant. But the kitchen/serving area is doing like an American dinner. It's a weird juxtaposition.Suggestion: The walls are covered with photos of classic movie stars. Could there be an answer sheet showing who is in each photo?Conclusion: Nice place. Worth a visit.
