The Whitstable Cake Company in Canterbury

We booked a cream tea for all the family, 4 adults and 4 children to celebrate my son's birthday on 23 April.The staff were really friendly and the food amazing. There were 2 vegetarians and the choice of sandwiches etc was excellent. Would definately visit the tea shop again. The attention to detail was really good and they sent us away with cake boxes of the cake we didn't manage to ear. The portions were huge. Great day out.

We were both treated to afternoon tea at the Whitstable cake shop this afternoon and we had the most delicious selection of sandwiches cakes and scones all freshly made on the day by Sonja and Jo who looked after us really well all the time we were there.We both thoroughly recommend this shop and we will definitely be coming back again a big thank you.

I was fortunate enough to visit this amazing gem today for afternoon tea. Where do I begin, firstly both Sonja & Jo were incredible, I had to cancel my original booking and they made this process so simple without making me feel a pain. The premises I would describe as petite, pretty and perfect! I chose the word petite for several reasons, the premises are cosy and give a wonderful atmosphere, typical of a good cake company, the cutlery and crockery was themed for a lovely afternoon tea. The cakes that arrived in the cake stand were petite and scrumptious, every flavour imaginable, lemon, blueberry, vanilla and of course chocolate, every bite had a different taste. Did I have a favourite, no that were all truly delicious. The sandwich choices were lovely and they catered for fussy sandwich eaters without making us feel awkward, so thank you. I make my own sausage rolls and I have to say these were mouthwatering and I loved every bit, actually these were my favourite…The waitress was a breath of fresh air, very happy & helpful, nice to know people are happy at work. This place is a perfect hidden gem, had it not been recommended to me I would never had the wonderful experience I had today.. Visit and see and taste the delights. The cupcakes on sale looked so tempting too. All I can say is thank you & Wow

We've just had the most amazing afternoon tea - the best ever!!All of the food was absolutely perfect!! Sonja and EJ were so friendly and attentive - first class service. My son and daughter-in-law's (Niall and Sarah) new dog, Viola, was also welcomed and given some lovely treats!Thank you for a lovely, prosecco fuelled afternoon!! I'll be back!! ❤️❤️

What a delightful place. Afternoon tea was amazing, there was nothing on there that was not up to standard. The lady who served us with the green retro glasses (sorry I don't know her name) gave us just the right amount of attentiveness. 10/10 will definitely be back Thank you

The Whitstable Cake Company made my wedding cake and I can't recommend them enough! It was the best cake I have eaten and our guests raved about it. They were so helpful in the lead up to our wedding and delivered it promptly on the day. The cake was decorated beautifully. Genuinely amazing cake, 100% recommend.

Sonja & Jo are our go-to cake makers. They always knock it out of the park. We first used Whitstable Cake Company for our rustic style wedding cake. Each tier was a different flavour and a lot of our guests commented about it being the best wedding cake they had ever eaten. We now use them regularly for birthdays and other special occasions. They last made a baby shark cake for my daughter's birthday which also went down a storm. Keep up the great work!

We had fantastic selection of cakes & scones for our afternoon tea on the beach 2 weeks ago (13-10-20) a lovely way to share special moments with family given the current situation with public health.All package well personally by Sonia who also delivered it to our guests ready for the next day treats, our guest was well impressed.Will definitely be using this company againGeorge Rodrigues

If you like high quality cakes, look no further! I've been looking forward to visiting Whitstable Cake Company for literally a year, and it was everything you could hope for. Sonja the owner is a welcoming host, and the atmosphere is informal and relaxed; attractive decor too. The quality of the cakes is outstanding, and the wide selection is skilfully matched for afternoon tea. Lovely textures and flavours that complement the breakfast tea, which is also well chosen; smooth with a clean finish on the palate. Nothing was too sweet or heavy. The selection is always evolving, so likelihood is you'll be treated to new selections every time you visit... Which is a must. Highly recommended!

Sonja and her team created an incredible wedding cake for our wedding day in November, we couldn’t have been more pleased with the finished product. We asked for a cake fit for desert, and we got an delicious salted caramel chocolate cake that was just as yummy as it was spectacular looking.I’d previously been told that what a wanted from the decoration wasn’t achievable, but Sonja achieved it. It was a stress free experience, there was good communication, and I would definitely recommend them!
